At GenCon 2001, over 90 players stopped in to try for the coveted title Master of Peasants, each willing to bet it all in a double-elimination tournament run by format originator and newbie tournament master Robert Baranowski.
The following players entered the first ever Master of Peasant Magic tournament. The table contains their name, their deck name (if any), and the round of their elimination. The nine top finishers are listed seperately, and their decks can be viewed through links on that page as well.

Because the Master of Peasant Magic tournament was a double-elimination match, the earliest that a player could be eliminated was round 2. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Round six was the last double-elimination round in the tournament. From here on in (to speed play), the tourney became a single elimination contest. Players who had yet to lose a game were allowed to skip this round as well as the following speed round (see the finalists page), but when play recommenced, they were vulnerable. All players who survived this round received prizes.
