About the Peasant Council

The Peasant Council is the "official" board of players and judges who oversee the format and look for upcoming problems. The Council's primary purpose is to discuss, propose, and implement new rules, most commonly deciding whether or not a particular card should be banned or have its rarity rating increased.

The Peasant Council has a discussion list on Yahoo! Groups. New Council members are added roughly at the beginning of each summer so that rules can be made before the major tournament season. To become a member of the Peasant Council, all you need to do is be active in the format. That means generally playing, but also writing and posting articles online, hosting local tournaments, and in general being helpful to your fellow peasant. Membership is by invitation only, but it is not exclusive. Active players and judges who want to be a part of the Council will be invited, and all decisions by the Council are made in a democratic fashion, with each member having exactly the same say as every other member of the Council.

If you have questions about the Council or about joining, please contact me or anyone else on either of the major email lists (see the Links page).
