The Race of Nephilim
In The Earliest Accounts of the Old Testament (Genesis 6), Around 2000 B.C., angels stayed close to earth. Indeed, so Close were they that the Sons of God had intercourse with The beautiful daughters of men, producing thereby the Race of Nephilim, the famous men. It was common folk- Lore. The Greeks and other peoples also held to the under- ground belief that angels and humans can consort together, Have progeny. By the time of the Captivity of the Jews in Babylon, however, around 600 B.C., the angels and archan- gels had moved to higher spiritual spheres, though they Could still appear as men sometimes, and in another six hun- dred years, by the time of Jesus, angels were clearly per- ceived as above sexual union with women, no matter how Seductive the women may be. "Thank you for your most lovely presentation Reiana." the sister said from behind the large oak desk she sat at, "Your normal lack of flair for this class isnt apparent in this piece of work. Im surprised, youll receive a excellent grade for your paper." Taking a good look at the girl she had taught from a young age, long pale blonde hair that fell to the middle of her back. The rarest eye color she had ever seen graced this girl, violet rimmed with an emerald green. She was about 5'7", and had always been pale. Shed never seen the girl with a tan or the slightest different color of skin. With lean but visible muscle. The girl had changed over the many years she had taught her, now her eyes where shadowed by black eyeliner, and the only color she ever wore out side of school was black. The Sister shook her head out of her musings and called up the next person to present. Reianas cheeks flushed a light rose color as she stepped out from behind the podium and crossed the gap between herself and Sister Marys desk. In the silence she set the plastic covered paper down on the desk and walked to the back of her class to her assigned seat. "Pst. Rei, that was actually half decent." Aurora said her blood red hair falling over her shoulder as she leaned over her desk to whisper in to her best friends ear. Leaning back in her chair Rei whispered quietly, "Im not stupid you know, just lazy. And for the record I hate this damn class and the bitch who teaches it." "Reiana dont lean back in your chair! See me after class." "Yes, Sister Mary," Mumbling she spoke, "Damn fucking bitch." "Rei you shouldnt say things like that, she's a holy person." "Just because she hasnt gotten any makes her holy, thats a new concept." Reiana mumbled out to her best friend as she rose from her seat and grabbed her books and backpack. Trudging toward the front of the classroom she reluctantly stopped in front of the sisters desk. "Yes, Sister?" Reiana said with and indignant pride. "What changes your heart so much that you refuse God? Ive watched you change over the years. From the kinda hearted little girl I once knew so many years ago. The black isnt very becoming of you." "When I saw my father die. And besides that its not any of your business Sister. Also I look damn good in black." Reiana said before storming out of the class. "Rei, what did she want?" Aurora asked from her position of leaning against the doorframe. "She was prying again, its like she wants to get into my fucking brain. I wish she would just rest and stop making me remember something I want to forget." "Your father?" "Always. Its not right for a six year old to watch their father bleed to death in front of them. Its a rather traumatizing thing I would rather forget." "Right, so house then homework?" "Yea, like everyday Aurora. You seen Michael?" "No, he was suspended again, Winston came and got his things." "Again? For how long? God, that boy needs to get in less trouble." "Your telling me, you think we should go see him?" "Probably, he could always use them company, its really close to the anniversary of his parents death. You know how he gets, which is probably why he got into the fight in the first place. Probably with Sammael again, he always picks fights with him for some reason." "Sammaels just a punk, doesn't even know him, or either of us, and we're Michael's only friends anyways. It's not like he has a reason to be mean to him, or to hate him." "Lifes been rough on Michael, you think God would cut him a little slack or something. I mean he already killed his parents, what else could he possibly do?" --- Next Day - In The Church The pale flicker of the candles lit inside the gothic church illuminated the few figures inside. Reiana and Aurora happened to be on the duty of clean everything up after chapel that week. They both had decided it really sucked. Sister Mary stood off to the side, still praying, as the other students exited through the side doors. It had been simple enough, get the plate offerings, take them to the Father. Snuff out the remaining candles, and put the pew books in their proper place on the shelving. But it all went to hell from there. The heavy dark stained oak doors to the front burst open, everyones gaze shifting towards it in what seemed like slow motion. It all happened to fast, a hail of bullets flew from the betrayers hand into the sanctuary. The first wave tore through several of the exiting students who where lagging behind, before working its way around to the other end. Aurora collapsed in front of Reiana on the stair below her. Behind her Reiana visibly snapped, something had broken. A warm crimson flow fell form her abdomen onto her uniformed skirt, lifting her hand in astonishment, the vivid color coating her usually black tinted nails. She fell to her knees, her flow of life-blood joining Auroras in a pool around them. In that instance her world turned black. It was all over the place, the media ate it up like a child with candy. The news that a small catholic church had been invaded by a criminally insane man, killing five students and wounding eight others. Only three of those eight had survived. Aurora, Reiana and a younger student who went by the name of Paul. The event had left both Reiana and Aurora in the hospital for a week. Their wounds ended in the same spot, their upper abdomen. Luckily they had evaded any major organs and would only be left with two sunburst shaped scars on their front and backs. During the week Michael had taken up residence between the two beds in a white oval shaped chair. They had requested to be put in the same room, for convenience of family and friend. By the end of the week the nurses where bringing food for Michael as well, who wouldnt eat unless forced by either of the girls.
--- Nothing that day changed the fact of what Sister Mary saw. The moment Aurora had dropped, a surge of white like mist flowed around her young student Reiana. Weaving around her body, and leaving the impression of two rather large feathered wings protruding from her back. Like wise around Aurora, but not the magnitude of Reiana's. The look of pure shock that registered on Reianas face was astounding, as she touched her abdomen and raised her bloody hand to her face, and with a sickening laugh crumpled to the floor next to her best friend. The security had failed to notice in the chaotic event, that in front of the girls, lay a small pile of bullets that where hailed in their general direction. They were stopped by some unknown force. Sister Mary had seen the white mist form, saving the two from impending death. The disturbed Sister has ran to the Father, describing what she had seen. The Father had grown pale as she continued her story. Finally he reclined back in his chair, a bewildered look marring his youthful face. "Are you positive this is what you saw, Sister?" He said as his brow furrowed. "Yes, Father, I am positive." She said shaking lightly in her seat. "You swear on your vows?" "Yes, Father." "Be on your way, I will consult Father Mathias and speak to you afterwards, go in peace Sister." Standing, the Father turned towards his window and looked out, his back to the Sister. Slowly, she back up and left the room. As a child she had been gifted with sight, the ability to see things as they are and not how they appear to be. She had been orphaned at a young age and brought up in a convent where they taught her to use her ability to the glory of God. They had given her an education and she became a teacher at one of the many scattered catholic schools. She knew what she had seen, the sign of The Nephilim. It was rare, but she knew what it was. There was no mistake. Those two children where Nephilim.
--- 5 Weeks after the shooting It was several weeks after the shooting. Aurora was laying on her back on the bed idly reading magazine, Reiana next to her on her stomach carefully drawing intricate designs around Auroras bellybutton with the same black sharpie she had colored her nails with. Michael lay on the floor, his hands behind his head and dirty blonde hair falling into his eyes as he moved his head to the beat of the song. "So you finally go back to school, huh?" Michael said, stretching, the muscles on his tan chest visibly rippling. His shirt, as usual, had been discarded next to the door along with his shoes and socks. They had a hell of a time keeping him fully clothed. "Yea, Its time to go back." Aurora sighed tossing her magazine to the side, broad siding Michael in the process. Rei just grinned and went back to her work. "Its due time to go back, I was starting to get bored of lounging around in nothing with Aurora all the time..." Rie snickered and blew on the intricate design causing Aurora to jump. "You guys lay around naked with out me!" Michael spat out in faint protest, a sarcastic grief-stricken expression on his face. Aurora rolled her eyes tossing a pillow at him, which erupted into a mini-pillow fight. Michael of, course, dominating. It ended with both Aurora and Reiana laying on the floor, Michael sprawled out on top of them. The girls finally relented. Leaving them in a small cluster in the floor. Reiana laying on her stomach, her head resting on Auroras taught stomach. Aurora on her back running her fingers through Reianas long hair. Michael using Reiana's lower back to rest his head. "Will you two promise me something?" Michael sat up and looked down at the girls. "Sure." "Lets never be apart." He said laying back down and nuzzling into Reianas back. "Of course Michael, why would we ever leave each other." Aurora spoke intertwining her hands with Reiana's and Michael's. Later that night Reiana's mother knocked on her door, receiving no answer, she pushed open the door. Finding the three curled around each other in the middle of the room. Closing the door, she exited a broad smile graced her pale features. Walking down the stairs she lifted her head to heaven and said a silent prayer.
--- Next Morning A small girl of five or six sat huddled in a dark corner. Her eyes wide, and overflowing with salty tears. Just moments before she had witnessed an earth shattering event. Her father, He was standing there, with a smile on his face. Then it changed, blood appeared on the stomach of his shirt, like something had been rammed through. Then two fountains of blood came from his back. Three words tumbled from his lips, 'I love you', before he collapsed onto the ground in a pool of blood. Only then had she noticed the three men in glowing outfits behind her father. The one directly behind him had a gleaming sword glossed in blood, making a steady dripping noise on the floor. To the left and the right each man held what appeared to be a large bloody wing, white in color, but with heavily coated in blood. The girl locked eyes with the man in the middle, his face glowed and his eyes lit like fire. Reiana woke up sweating, noticing the heavy body on her, she looked at her position, intertwined with her two friends in the middle of her bedroom floor. Twisting so she could see her back she noticed a slick wet substance running down her spine. "Dude, get off of me, your heavy! Gross! You drooled on me! Michael, Im going to kill you!" Was what Aurora woke up to as Reiana began to chase Michael around the small room. Aurora yawned and sat up, tripped Michael, and laughed as Reiana landed on his back and proceeded to pound her fists playfully into his back. "You drooled on me you bastard!" She said, hitting him one last time before he tossed her off his back and she landed on her butt. "Ass monkey." She said indignantly and rubbed her ass. "Breakfast is ready! Winston brought your clothes over as well Michael!" Reianas mother shouted form the kitchen. Michael scurried out of the room as the girls threw things at him, yelling for him to get out so they could change. "You never had issues changing in front of me when we where five!" He screeched as he ran down the hall to the downstairs to get his clothes and change. "Pervert!" They screeched in unison, going to the closet they pulled out two identical Saint Lukes uniforms. The uniform consisted of a white button down shirt, as well as a red and black plaid skirt. The boys uniform was similar, the same white button down shirt, with a horrid black and red tie, accompanied by black or khaki slacks. They both took their time dressing, Aurora sitting on the floor looking in a mirror applying makeup, Reiana in another doing the same, but rather thick black eyeliner and eye shadow compared to Aurora's more lively colors. After the laborious activity of putting their make up on, they made their way down the stairs. Michael leaned against the door frame, his school uniform on, a piece of toast hung out of his mouth as he slowly chewed on it. Reiana jumped down the last few steps hugged Michael and bit off part of the toast that hung from his lips. "Punk," He snorted out as he quickly ate the rest so that Aurora wouldnt try the same thing. "What makes you think you can eat a growin boys breakfast?" Reiana just smiled as she grabbed her bag and waited for the two to gather their things so they could be off to school. Its was finally time to go back.
