"And the Angels had guitars even before they had wings" --Meat Loaf "Rock n' Roll Dreams Come Through"
Within these walls lies the Gods and Goddesses that rule my world. The world of Rock n' Roll. These are the divine influences that have shaped and molded me into who I am today. They are the keepers of my dreams. The light at the end of my tunnel. The ones who with song, have made me live. So enter my Olympus

As the King of The Gods in my realm, Meat Loaf is the biggest part of my life. Influencing a young girl of 5 years old to pick up a guitar because she HAD to learn how to make it sound like a motorcycle just like on "Bat Out of Hell", his voice carried her through the ages and let her know that "Heaven Can Wait" on more than one occasion. In all of my hopes and dreams, I will play my guitar for him one of these days and I will be in his band. Dreams can crash and burn and be a little too much on reality, but I keep believing. If you let your dreams slip from your grasp, then you have nothing left to live for. As long as he lives, I will hold onto my dreams. And when he leaves us, I will be waiting to join his band in Rock n' Roll Heaven.

Lita Ford.... Remember that 5 year old girl that picked up a guitar? Well, fast forward to when she was 14. But through these years, her sister always told her that "One day, you'll have a guitar just like Lita Ford with your name on the fretboard in marble." "Lita Ford? Who's that?" the young girl replied.... In addition to playing guitar, she had also begun to play viola in the school orchestra (lots of state and county awards and such, but I'm not going there). When she was going into high school, a decision had to be made. Guitar or viola.... Decisions, decisions. Dad always told her that women really don't make it in music (he later commented that he said that to help drive her to her goals). Well, fights ensued between parents--the biggest blow out that she had ever seen. And during that, she turned on MTV and a video came on. Fade in: black stilettos walking across the stage. Then the drums take over with the guitar. And there was this woman with long blonde hair weilding a BC Rich Warlock guitar. Miss Lita Ford was playing "Back to the Cave". Well.... The whole world turned upside down and has never been the same since. And now, I weild that same axe and have the same tatoo emblazened upon my chest.

And when the Angels had guitars... Ann and Nancy Wilson were the first in line. These two women have done so much for Rock n' Roll and are still so unbelieveably underrated, especially Nancy and her guitar work. They have the voices of angels and can back themselves up with kick in the face driving rock. Ann's voice can make you cry. Nancy's guitar playing can bring you to another world. Put the two together and you are in for one hell of a ride through time and space.

The King of the Underworld, The God of Shock Rock, The Prince of Darkness, Alice Cooper
Where would the world of Kiss or Marilyn Manson be without Alice? That's right, nowhere. He is the innovator and icon of the live horror show, And a musical genius. Yes, I put Alice in the very same category of Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman, Lita Ford, and Heart. Aside from the humorouly horrific music, you get to see him shine with classics like "Only Women Bleed". "You and Me", "I Never Cry", and "It's Me."

Now here is a GOD. Slash. I have never heard someone play the guitar like Slash does. The feeling that flows from him into and through that Les Paul is nothing that anyone can ever duplicate. He can make you cry, rape your mind and make you beg for more with just a few moves of his fingers on that wooden fretboard and taking a lifeless piece of wood and making it come alive and sing. Lita Ford IS my guitar idol, but, I have to admit, I play just like Slash. From the stance to the feel, it all comes through. The lifeless piece of wood part above is how my singer described my playing. But I owe that to Slash. Watching him play is one of my favorite past times <vbg>. I do have a story about a Guns' N' Roses concert video and an ex.......... But, that's for me to know <eg>

OH WHY HELL YEAH!!! THE NUGE IS HERE!!!!!! Ted Nugent needs his space and it's here as loud and boistrous as he is. How can I have a Pantheon of Gods without The Motor City Madman? Before Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker, yes there was and will ever be Ted Nugent, the first and reigning American Badass. Possibly the most outspoken person to date. He lets everyone know what's on his mind. He's wild! He's crazy! He's been named father of the year! Honorary member of the NRA! And he looks damn good in a loincloth.... If you've never seen Ted onstage, then what are you waiting for? You have to see him at least once in your life get the full effect of "Cat Scratch Fever" and see how he can make a pussy purr with the stroke of his hand. <EG> There is no such thing as taking it easy on your guitar when it comes to Ted Nugent. He puts that piece of wood through its paces and shows it and the audience who's boss. I guess that's where I get my instumentally abusive tendancies from. It's never quite been figured out yet. Every divine family has to have that loose catapult and here he is!

"You know what I've discovered out on the terrain, man? It's that tomorrow never happens, man. It's all the same fucking day, man." --Janis Joplin "Ball & Chain (live)
What is a Pantheon of Rock N' Roll Gods without Janis Joplin? The funny thing about Janis is that I never payed her no mind up until a few years ago. Sure I knew "Piece of My Heart" and "Bobby McGee", but they were just songs, right? I became enthralled with Janis after seeing the "Legends" special on VH-1 years back. I went out and bought a few of her tapes and biographies at the same time. There was something about her that drew me to her. I don't know what it was. Her unusual voice? The ability to pull everyone's attention right to her? The way she can tear at your heart with her songs, how she opened up and let you feel her pain? Or that her life was tragically cut short from a batch of way too pure herione? But I do know that she's got me hooked. My all time favorite Janis album has to be "Pearl". She died the night before completing that album, only having to lay down the vocal tracks for "Buried Alive in the Blues" (which ended up being an instrumental). She's watching down on us with a cigarette in one hand, a bottle of Southern Comfort in the other and perched on top of her psychedellic Porsche --cackling as the clouds go by.
