| Microsoft was found by Paul Allen and Bill Gates in 1975. At first it was known as 'Micro-soft', later in November of '76 it changed to Microsoft. The company created its version of BASIC for the machine created by MITS and licensed this to MITS in 1995. The company also licensed its version of BASIC to GE, Citibank, and a host of others. Microsoft formed a strategic partnership with Kazuhils Nishi, founder of ASCII corporation in Japan and thus the first international office of the company was established. Microsoft's first year end sales exceeded $1 million dollars for the first time in 1978. Throughout the years Microsoft became one of the most well known company's in the world. |
