Peach Grove Nursery and Gardens' Developments and introduction
Idabel Asiatic Dayflower (Commelina communis 'Idabel') dislpays a rich deep blue flower ontop of striking white and green variegated leaves.  While an annual makes good "perenial" groundcover because it readily reseeds, Discovered as a mutant seedling in Madison Co Tennessee in 1997.  Propagates readily from seeds and cuttings.  Named after my grandmother, Idabel Cowsert
Gooch Sedum (Sedum spectitalis 'Gooch) is an upright grower reaching 2' tall.  In late summer it is completely covered in large flowerheads almost as if an early snow has arived.  The petals are white with a green midrib which fades to a pink... the more shade the more green, more sun the more pink.   Selected from seed in 1996, propagates readily from cuttings. Named after Gooch Hall on the UTM campus where the seeds were collected.
Mission Sheridan Pine (Pinus nigra x densiflora 'Mission Sheridan).  This is a large shrub pine discovered near the yellow fever cemetary in Sheridan Illinois.  The needles are dark emerald green and resemble Austrian Pine,  Come Fall the plant is covered in clusters of cones.  First grafted in 1999.  I have raised several seedlings from this plant with range of variation.  Two of these seedlings have been named 'Dawsey' and 'Cowsert' and dontated to Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville TN where they can be seen.  The Dawes Arboretum will also be grafting several of these plants to add to their collection this winter.
