| Series Title: Unreasonable Reason Part Title: Give me a Reason Author: Chibi_Koji_no_da Series: Wei Kreuz Pairing: Aya x Ken, Youji x Omi (implied Aya x Botan, Ken x Akira, mentioned Kaze x Ken) Rating: PG-13 (this rating may change during later parts) Warning: OOC, AU, some angst Note: Set from the events near the end of the series, and then on into the OVA's. Added note: As anyone who has seen Wei is aware, the boy's eyes colours are forever changing - so far I've seen Ken with blue eyes, brown eyes and green eyes. So I have decided for my story to go with brown! Aya's will be purple, Omi's blue and Youji's green - please feel free to disagree with me and imagine whatever eye colour you want! Disclaimer: Wei doesn't belong to me, it never has and it never will - although if they WANTED to give me Ken-Ken and his voice actor Seki Tomokazu I wouldn't say no (more like yes yes yes gimme gimme gimme now now now) ^_^ Unreasonable Request. Part One: GIVE ME A REASON * * * * Wei wanted him back; Manx and Kritiker wanted them to reform. They didn't know what they were asking. He couldn't go back - not even for the safety of innocents, it hurt too much to even think about the group he used to belong to - one member in particular. Even now, months since they split, he could still hear the man's cold voice echoing in his ears. "There's nothing left here to stay for - I won't stay here for no reason." For a time, he had believed that he had been reason enough that the beautiful Aya would stay because of him. But he had been kidding himself all along. Aya cared for them all in his own way, he had rescued them from the Special Defence force during Takatori Reiji's brief reign as Prime Minister - but when it came down to it, all he wanted, all he needed was his revenge and his imouto; and once he had his revenge, there was no need for him to remain as an assassin in Wei. "You didn't mean that to me - I'm sorry if you feel that way, but I don't" Aya's words to him when he begged him to stay, begged him not to leave him behind. He had revealed just how deeply he cared for the other man, he had fallen in love with him - deeper than anything he had experienced with Kaze, and this new betrayal hurt a thousand times more. But, because he loved him, he had ceded to his wishes and let him go - but now, now the darkness and Wei wanted him back, and he would have to face Aya again. With a sigh, Ken shrugged off his soccer jersey and headed out to the football pitch where a group of innocent kids waited for their Ken-Niisan. He knew that once the game was finished, he would leave the children and their light behind, and rejoin the darkness that he couldn't seem to escape. * * * * Wei was to be reformed, the unexplained deaths of so many innocent people called for justice that the Police weren't capable of dealing with. However, it was Aya-Chan's disappearance that spurred him into action. Alone, he knew that he could not catch the people who were responsible for his Imouto's abduction, he would use Wei for a short time, until he had gathered enough information to go off on his own. Thinking of Wei made him think of messy brown bangs and smiling brown eyes, and it led him to thoughts that he did not want to think about. He had hurt the other boy with his insensitivity, but he knew it was for the best - as he had told Sakura, he was not a person qualified to receive love; after all he wasn't so much an agent of justice striking at the dark beasts, as he was a murderer who killed solely for money. In his own way he loved Ken, and he had enjoyed the time he spent with him. But after Takatori Reiji's death, he knew that Wei would be disbanded and he needed to break free of all ties, for if his sister awakened, he did not want her to know that he had been a murderer for three years, killing for the money to save her, under her own name as well. It had been hard to tell Ken that he wanted to leave him, but when it came down to a choice of Ken and his Imouto - there really was no choice. Making his way to the flower shop that had housed them for so long, Aya prepared to wait for the arrival of the others - knowing that at least two of them would come to bring justice. He was not sure if Youji would arrive, but rumours of Schreient's presence made him believe that all four of them would soon be together again. * * * * He had to convince them to reform Wei, that was the only way he would save the girls kidnapped from his school. It may only be for a short time, but he hated the helplessness of standing by and doing nothing, when he knew very well that he was capable of helping. He hated Ken's recent attitude, of "it's nothing to do with us." He knew that Aya had something to do with the change in the normally genki and kind Ken's attitude, but the pain in Ken's eyes when the red-head said that he was leaving, stopped him from questioning him about it - he had been sure that Ken would come to him and talk about it, but the brunette had just drifted further away from him. He supposed he hadn't helped, his feelings for Youji had been deepening and he hadn't been around Ken as much as he should have been. It irked him that Youji still treated him like a child at times, he wanted the other man to see him as an adult, something to give a second glance to. He knew that Youji was interested in men as well as women - he had caught him in a risqu clinch with a man in the alleyway outside the flower shop one night; Youji told him then that it wasn't gender that mattered - he was a sucker for beauty. He also knew that Youji had entertained thoughts about him at least once. Before the mission in which he found out his real name, Youji had dressed him for the club, and his touches and glances had lingered a little longer than propriety deemed necessary. But he would make no move for fear of being labelled a hentai by their friends. He had spoken with Ken about his feelings, and Ken had advised him to go for it - and if Youji objected with the hentai line, tell him that legally they didn't exist and they already had a plethora of sins and perceived sins over their heads, what was one more. Shutting down his laptop, Omi exited the classroom and headed back towards the flower shop that had been his home once. He would see if the terminal still worked and if he could not get Wei to come to him, he would become it again on his own. * * * * The woman he walked with was boring. Her sunny smile and slender body had drawn him to her, but she was dull inside. All she talked about was the weather, and how she worked in an office all day. Briefly he wondered how the others were doing, now that they had been freed from the obligations Wei imposed upon them all. He had not heard from either Ken or Aya; he had at least expected to hear from Ken, but something had changed about the soccer player, and he would bet his best sunglasses that Aya had something to do with it. Fondly he thought of the bubbly emails he received from Omi, the genki boy was rapidly growing up, and he often felt pangs of arousal when he thought about him, that made him feel slightly guilty though - Omi deserved to choose his own partner, and not have some washed up detective come murderer lusting after him. However, the last few emails had been disturbing, and he hoped that Omi would have the good sense to stay out of the way, if it was someone from their past as Wei creating the problems, then Omi's life would not just be in danger from them, but from Kritiker agents making sure that none of their clandestine secrets could be revealed. Reaching the ice-cream shop, he watched his dull date walk inside and head towards the desk. A familiar looking woman with dark hair walked past, and his heart immediately cried out "Asuka". Without stopping to think, he bounded down the street after her, leaving his stunned date with a lame excuse and a parting wave. The woman had turned out to be just another familiar stranger, but despite this he took her home and bedded her, feeling a little sorry for her, knowing that as he pushed into her, he was thinking of someone else. The attack from Schreient had caught him off guard, and once more he faced the wire-wielding woman who called herself Noi. He knew though that she was Asuka, that somehow she had survived and the bastard Takatori Masafumi had brainwashed her. He thought it ironic that she used the same weapon as he. After fielding the attack and sending the scared woman in his bed home, Youji sparked up a cigarette and prepared a bag of stuff to take with him to the Flower Shop. If Schreient were about, then Wei would have to reappear. He worried for their safety, and again hoped that Omi was somewhere safe. * * * * END PART ONE. |
