Koko wa Jealousy.

Jounouchi looked on as Anzu threw her arms around Yugi. He couldnt help feeling disgusted as he watched; his feelings for Yugi wouldnt allow anything less. It had taken him so long to come to terms with his feelings; however once he had resolved in his mind that he wasnt as heterosexual as he thought, it had become easier to be around the other boy.

But any chance he might have had with the kawaii Yugi was reduced to nothing as the Kawaii One embarked on a relationship with Anzu. So now his best friend, the boy that he loved was so wrapped up in Anzu that he didnt seem to notice that Jounouchi was spending less and less time with him; it had even reached the point where he was skipping school to avoid Yugi and Anzu it was too painful to watch their sickening displays of togetherness.

Yugi resisted the urge to sigh and shrug Anzu off, but restrained himself. She had been demanding every bit of his attention and he was rapidly finding that his feelings for her were based on who he thought she was; not who she had turned out to be.

He vaguely heard an I told you so from Yami but decided to ignore it. His feelings for Anzu were safe, they didnt challenge his identity or threaten to ruin something special his feelings for Jounouch-kun on the other hand; well he suppressed them as much as possible. It became easier once Jounouch-kun started avoiding him, but it hurt to know that he was causing his friend so much pain.

Inside his soul room Yami felt restless. There was much indecision in the heart of his Little One and it worried him. He really did not like Anzu; preferring Jounouchi for his other half. Anzu was too overbearing and demanding, always insisting on her own way and everything for her.

One of the things that endeared him to Jou so much was that the blonde boy always put Yugi at the front of his heart, and like himself made Yugis happiness the top and only priority. He admired Jou for staying away when Yugi started seeing Anzu, it would give his little one time to decide for himself, and come to the conclusion that he had already reached he just hoped that it wasnt too late by the time he did; too late for both of them.

The last bell of the day rang and the gang made their way out of the classroom. At the shoe lockers, Jounouchi took a deep breath and stood next to Yugi.

"Yu..." he was cut off by Anzu calling for Yugi, and it hurt that Yugi didn't even acknowledge his presence; he just pulled his shoes on and left with the girl.

"That was cold Aibou," Yami Yugi muttered disgustedly, his little one was taking avoiding Jounouchi to the extreme. Waiting for a reply, he wasn't really surprised when one was not forth coming, "You have to stop doing this Yugi - Jounouchi cares about you, and I love you; but if you keep this behaviour up then you'll end up all alone."

Yugi stopped in his tracks as Yami's words filtered through to him.

"Daijobu Yugi?" Anzu asked impatiently, "We need to hurry - you promised me that you would take me to the cinema this evening."

"Ah, I'm fine," Yugi replied. He hated the way Anzu was so selfish but it was his own fault that he was with her. Yami's words were haunting him, he didn't want his other half to be mad at him - but he would have to wait until after his date so that he could have a nice long talk with him then.

Jounouchi walked slowly home, he had no desire to return to the house where his father would undoubtedly be drinking and well on his way to being nasty. He hated his mother for leaving him with the man she divorced for being a violent alcoholic; and it irritated him that she had the nerve to call him 'Katsuya' as if she hadn't abandoned her duties as his mother many years before.

He himself had started down the path set to him by his father, joining a gang and being a juvenile delinquent - if it hadn't have been for Yugi... He stopped himself before he could continue that thought, anything to do with Yugi hurt far too much to think about these days.

"Jounouch-kun," he stopped as he heard his name called, there were only two people who addressed him like that; unfortunately it was not the one he most desired to see.

"Yo Bakura," he replied and faced the white haired boy behind him. Bakura was something of a mystery as well. In ways he was very naive and sweet like Yugi, but in others he was grown up and mature. Of course he also had something else in common with Yugi - a Yami, but this one from what he had seen and heard was not that pleasant to be around.

"Where are you off to now?" Bakura asked polite as always.

"Not sure actually - what are you doing?" Jounouchi answered with a shrug - maybe he could kill some time with Bakura before heading home.

"Well," a pretty blush stained Bakura's cheeks, "I was going to the shopping centre to get a present for Honda's birthday next week. But I don't know what to get him - would you help me; that's if you're not busy."

"Of course I'll help," Jounouchi beamed, he genuinely liked Bakura and it would take his mind off of Yugi, with an extravagant gesture he held his arm out like a gentleman and said, "Shall we."

Bakura giggled, flushing again but took his arm and together they headed off for the shopping centre.

Yugi was incredibly bored, the film had been terrible - a romantic thriller his third foot! All through it, Anzu had been pawing at him, and sobbing at the onscreen action. Not usually one for excessive violence he found himself craving a gore fest.

"Lets get something to eat Yugi," Anzu clung to his arm like a limpet, "I want to eat over there." and before he could say anything, she was dragging him in the direction of a small fast food joint.

Jounouchi was glad he had decided to go along with Bakura. It seemed that the prim and proper one, wasn't quite as innocent once he relaxed a bit. So far they had been in a dozen different stores, and were no closer to finding the perfect present for Honda.

"Mou, Jounouch-kun I'm starving!" Bakura complained as his stomach growled

"We can't have that!" Jounouchi turned round and put on a look of mock terror, "Quick - we need to feed you right away."

Bakura giggled again, he liked Jounouchi and this time with the other boy just re-enforced that thought.

"Let's go then," Jounouchi grabbed him by the hand and pulled him into the small fast food joint that stood not ten feet away from them, "It was convenient that you were hungry with this near by, ne Bakura." Jounouchi flashed him a wicked grin and led them to the counter.

Placing their order, they were soon seated and found themselves talking once more. Bakura was slightly surprised to find that Jounouchi was really an intelligent boy, his school persona merely the expected facade.

Jounouchi, for once was finding it refreshing to not have to play the fool, sure he was hot headed and a bit of a baka at times, but he was not stupid like people seemed to think.

Their dinner arrived and thanking the girl they ate and talked. As the discussion continued, they found themselves on the subject of romantic interests. Bakura somewhat shyly admitted that the reason the present he was buying had to be perfect was because he was trying to catch Honda's attention. Jounouchi wished him luck - if any one could get Honda's attention away from girls then it would be someone like Bakura.

Seeing as fair was fair, he admitted his feelings for Yugi, not surprised that Bakura had noticed the two of them growing apart as well.

"I don't think that Anzu is good for him," Bakura said munching on a chip, "She's a nice girl but too demanding for someone like Yugi."

"I can't really say - Anzu is always calling me stupid and such, but Yugi really seems to like her. If he's happy...." he trailed off, not wanting to make his thoughts too real by saying them out loud.

"You know," Bakura cut into his introspective angsting, "There aren't that many people who I would trust enough to talk like this too."

"No, me either," Jounouchi attacked his burger with gusto, "It's nice having someone to talk to - well someone who isn't avoiding me like the plague, to talk to."

"You can call me Ryou if you would like," Bakura lowered his head and looked at the table, "It would be nice to have at least one close friend like that."

"Bakura," Jounouchi was touched by the gesture, "Alright - if you call me Katsuya."

"Deal," Bakura looked up and beamed at him.

Feeling that the atmosphere was a little too odd, Jounouchi decided to deal with his devilish half and swiped a sauce laden chip across Ryou's nose.

"KATSUYA-KUN!" Ryou exclaimed and wiping it off, climbed over to Katsuya's side of the table and attempted to get payback.

Dragged over to the counter, Yugi's attention was drawn away from the choice menu by familiar strains of laughter. Looking around, he felt a cold pain shoot through his stomach as his eyes lit upon two familiar figures.

Jounouchi had Bakura in his arms and was attempting to put ketchup on his nose; the scene looked a little too intimate for his likings.

"Yugi, YUGI!" Anzu grabbed his arm and bought his attention back to her, "What are we getting?"

Half heartedly he gave her an order, all the while watching Jounouchi and Bakura giggling and having fun; once upon a time he would have been straight over there and it would be his face Jounouchi would be wiping ketchup on, and it would be him in Jounouchi's arms.

"Oh, there's Bakura and Jounouchi," Anzu, ever the observant finally noticed, "Let's go and say hi."

Reluctantly, Yugi was dragged over and they waited for the two boy's antics to die down.

"Hi Jounouchi, Bakura," Anzu beamed at them both.

Yugi found it perversely comical that the happy atmosphere at the table died immediately as their two friends looked down at them.

"Anzu, Yugi." Jounouchi acknowledged them both.

Sitting on the side of the stall Bakura had vacated, Anzu pulled Yugi next to her and looked at them, rolling her eyes, "You two are a mess - honestly Bakura, I thought Jounouchi was the baka not you." In her mind, her comment was funny but it just came across as rude.

"We were actually just finishing," Bakura said politely, "Katsuya-kun and I still have shopping to do."

Yugi, who had been studying the table, looked up in shock - Bakura had called Jounouchi by his first name, something that even he had never been asked or allowed to do. Yami's words echoed in his memories and it made the feeling in the pit of his stomach swell - Jounouchi had moved on and gotten himself another best friend; one that was even closer to him than they had been.

"Yeah, enjoy your meal." Jounouchi smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. Hastily saying their goodbyes, he and Ryou left the restaurant, their mood considerably dampened.
