World Wall for Peace in Multimedia University, Cyberjaya Malaysia

Project Name : World Wall for Peace in Multimedia University, Cyberjaya Malaysia.
Venue : FCM Atrium, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya.
Project Duration : January 2003 - June 2003

The goal of this project is to build a permanent peace wall in the community of Multimedia University, Cyberjaya during Cross Cultural Integration Program (CCIP) from 27th February - 7th March 2003. The wall will be a pilgrimage landmark that signifies not only peace, but also the birth of Another World in which social and economic justice, democracy and non-violence and ecological integrity are the defining values for international relations.

History of Project Design
The conceptualization of this project is rooted after the September 11 tragedy in the United State. The idea was originated from the World Wall for Peace organization in the US with an overwhelming need to protest war, especially the War on Terrorism. As a citizen of Malaysia we are deeply troubled by the US government’s actions in economic and foreign policy. We know that we am not the only Malaysian who shares this feeling, yet the voice of dissent has little place in world media and global consciousness. Therefore, the construction of a peace wall in Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, we believe, can draw attention to the issue and build better community and solidarity not only between Malaysian and other global citizens, but between all citizens of all war torn countries.
Funding and Sponsorship for the Project
This proposal is seeking for financial sponsorship from all individuals and organizations dedicated to peace and global justice.
