Miyazaki Peace Rally 2003

   in Kunitomi

Are you concerned with the current state of world politics, and the escalating tensions between nations?  You should be.  As America's aggressive Pax Americana response to alleged possession of 'weapons of mass-destruction' and terrorist support brings the reality of another gulf war closer to home, tension, hatred, and a general digression of humanitarianism is something that will affect everyone.  Not to mention, if there is a war, many lives on either side of the conflict will be lost.  And at what cost?  Will the 'winner' have proven their righteousness?  Will it bring peace?  Not likely.
As members of the global community we are capable of influencing the outcome of our future.  Come to the Miyazaki Peace Rally to show your support for the peaceful resolution of international disputes.  Show the people of Japan and the world that you do not support war.  With numbers we will be able to attract all forms of media.  In this day and age the media is a great (if not the only) way to inform and influence.  There'll be live music, games, food, face painting, friends and hopefully reporters.  So make banners, placards, and effigies, write songs, poems, and speeches, or just come and hang out.
The Rally date is set for Friday, March 21
From
10am to 4pm

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Peace Rally!  Although I would have liked to have seen more community envolvement, I believe it was a great success because of all of the volunteers' enthusiasm.  Good work!
