The abrasions to my face occurred when I was brutally jumped, only being told as he did it that he was taking me in - an unlawful act at that time - and thrown to the carpeted hallway floor and jarred about while the officer was putting handcuffs on me. He damaged the thumb of my right hand to the degree that it took two years before I could grasp a blade of grass and pull it from the ground. While I found myself able to play the flute about two months later when my chest healed it continues to have a malformed joint.

My chest had been severely injured in 1988 when I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle - an accident witnessed by Ed Broadbent, the well known NDPer, and his wife and two soldiers. I was lucky to not be killed. This attack at my door so severely re-injured my chest that I was unable to lie down and sleep for more than an hour or two at a time due to the pain, for almost two months. That part of my injury was not photographed nor am I sure there was any visible effect that could have been photographed. During the male officers attack I may have been whacked or prodded by the blonde female officer with him. I was unable to tell much about who did what.

At the time there was no law to allow an officer to force a person to go to hospital under any assumption of mental problems. As said elsewhere, I was quickly released as no harm to anyone or myself by Dr. Pachal of the then Royal Ottawa Hospital. I was not charged with any offence, though the officer had suggested I could be charged with assaulting an officer. Rather absurd since it was he who jumped me, not the other way around. I told him he would do what he had to.

The police drove me home where I was let back into my ugly apartment by the very understanding black superintendent. That was April 20 (as I recall) 1998. By October 1 I had been served eviction paper and gone to a meeting of the Mike Harris rip off Housing Tribunal. When I saw there was no likelihood of any public awareness through an argument in that tribunal, and was approached by the landlords manager and rental agent to see if I would make a deal - they could not get a tenant to witness against me - I decided, since I already intended to vacate and leave anyway, that I would tell them so and officially signed paper to that effect. I was gone by Oct. 16.

As I had said to the police officers, and later wrote to the police department, I do not hold the police responsible but a Godless government and fellow citizens who choose to pretend an interest in peace on earth - but get it only by violent suppression - not building for peaceful places.
