| Elizabeth picked her daughter up from Ms. McCoy, her baby-sitter, & took her home to drop off their stuff. Melody quickly got out of her uniform & met her mom in the foyer. Her mom also got out of her work cloths & changed into jeans & a T-shirt. They left & got back into the car. They drove to their favorite restaurant, Ruby Tuesdays. When they entered, Liz saw one of Davis�s old students named Marie. Liz recognized her. �Marie Walker, since when do you work here,� she asked. �Miss Morgan, it�s good to see you. I started here 2 weeks ago. I make good money & I love being a waitress,� Marie said with a smile, �I�ll go ahead and seat you 2 & give you a couple of minutes to find out what you want.� As soon as they were seated Elizabeth saw a very gorgeous man come through the door. She ignored him because she thought there was no way that someone like him would like someone like her. Soon a very beautiful voice said� �Excuse me, I know you might think this is strange but, I was wondering, would you mind if I joined you?� Liz looked at the man that had just asked her if he could join them. He was the same guy from the door. �Sure, have a seat,� she said as she motioned to the seat across from her. �I�m Howie,� he said as he extended his hand �Elisabeth, but please call me Liz,� she said as she held her hand out to shake his. He gently kissed her hand & smiled at her. She smiled back. �So Howie,� she said,� What�s a guy like you doing going around asking to join woman for dinner.� �First time I tried, I normally have friends with me so I don�t have to dine alone, but it�s worth meeting someone as pretty as you.� �Thank you,� she said as she blushed. �Are you ready to order,� Marie said as she came by the table. �Yes,� Liz said � For drinks, I�ll have a Dr. Pepper, & she will have a Sprite.� �I�ll have a coke,� Howie said. �Do you need a few minutes to find out what you want,� Marie said while she was eyeing Howie. �No, I�ll have the loaded potato & she wants the kids chicken tenders.� Liz said. �I�ll have the chicken fajitas," Howie said. As Marie walked off Liz excused herself & went to the bathroom. |
