Chapter 3
Meanwhile at the front of the plane: A.J. McLean sat there thinking very hard.
Dear Lindsay, he began for the tenth time .
I think we should stop seeing each other. I-

Argghh! You stupid pen. Work! I said work! A.J. said, unaware he had yelled. He looked up to find people looking at him strangely. He nodded & went back to his letter. Five minutes later he crumpled it up & threw it in his bag with the rest. He could just see what Lindsay would say. You should always use both sides of the paper. That wastes trees. shed said.
Oh well, he thought. Just because he knew shed disagree with it, he ripped out 4 more pieces.
Well that was dumb he thought to himself.
Would you please stop. Said the elderly, fat man on his left. AJ didnt answer. The guy had been getting on his nerves since he got on the plane. A.J. was coming back from visiting Lindsay. He had been trying to tell her the long-distance-away from-home-thing wasnt working. He just couldnt figure out how to break it to her. Suddenly his cell phone rang.
Hello, A.J said into the receiver.
Hi baby! came the soft sexy voice of Lindsay.
Whats up? A.J. asked. Wellum I think we should she stopped.
-break up. said A.J. you know I agree. I just think this long distance thing isnt working out right. A.J. finished relieved she thought the same way.
Oh, well that wasnt what I was going to say A.J. Lindsay said.
It wasnt, said A.J.
No,
Well, what were you going to say?
That we should spend more time together & it would be perfect because my parents are coming, & you could meet them, but if you feel that way.. she said on the verge of tears.
A.J. wanted to smack himself.
You idiot. You just lost one of the greatest girls youre ever going to know
Wait Lindsey, A.J. practically yelled into the phone.
Yes Alexander? Lindsay said softly.
Alexander? Oh know! He thought Shes calling me by my real name. This cant be good!
Um, well I dont know it we should actually break up A.J. faltered.
Alexander, if you think we should break up then-
Then all of a sudden there was a loud rumbling. The plane dipped & the phone fell out of A.J.s hand.
No! screamed A.J.
With a sickening feeling A.J. bent down to get the cell phone & the lights went out!
