| We walked into another room for privacy. Howie looked to see if anyone else was around & then closed the door. He turned to Kevin & me. �You guys, word leaked out about Sarah coming to work for us this afternoon.� �What? They weren�t suppose to find out.� Kevin replied. �What do you guys mean?� �Well Sarah, we decided it was for your best interest that we keep your joining of our record company a secret so other companies wouldn�t think about trying to persuade you to join their company. Unfortunately it backfired & word leaked out about it. I�m pretty sure you�ll be asked to join another company.� �I wouldn�t leave you guys. You�ve done too much for me already. I�m sure everything will be just fine.� �Sarah, it�s happened to us before. Don�t think it�s going to be easy.� �I didn�t say it was going to be easy, but I did say I was going to stay with your company.� She said as she left the room. The boys followed her back to the party. By the end of the party all of the men Sarah had met & Howie were drunk. She laughed at them as she grabbed Howie�s arm. �Come on Howie let�s get you out of here,� she said as she took Howie�s car keys from his pocket. She drove them to her home & had him stay the night there, hoping he would be better the next morning. |
