BEEJU BUSES and COACHES

This page shows the public transport vehicles modelled by BEEJU

starting with the DOUBLE DECKER BUS, probably made in the mid 1950s

It is approximately 3.5 inches (8.5cm) long and about 1.5 inches (3.5cm) high

It came in at least two colours- GREEN/WHITE and RED/WHITE

The bus has transfers on each side, between the upper/lower decks

this reads BEEJU PLASTIC TOYS. There are a small number of small

plastic passengers glued inside, usually 2 on top, 2 downstairs plus driver

A variation has the text 'BEEJU toys' on the side

The BLUE/YELLOW bus is a copy, possibly made in Portugal

BEEJU also made a coach (or single deck bus),

this was also about 3.5 inches (8.5cm) long

but only approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) high. It is a traditional half cab design,

with a streamlined rear and plastic passengers and a driver glued inside.

RED, but I have no pictures yet.

also BLUE. This coach is made from more brittle plastic, it has not warped

also the design is different- the logo on the side is stamped on,

the windows are a bit bigger, it has more detail

and the base is tabbed on, not glued (see scan)
