PEACE
LOLLIPOPS FOR TINY TOTS
by V.Balu
© 2004.
Book with CD or audio tape. 30 pages with illustrations and collages.
In Balu’s own words,
“As an artist and creative communicator working for peace through my paper collage
artworks, I found many children’s rhymes promoting concepts that are either
negative or violent. Rhymes like
Jack and Jill went up the hill end only with Jack falling down and breaking
his crown with Jill tumbling after.
Or consider the case of the three blind mice who ran up to the
farmer’s wife only to have their tails cut with a carving knife! This made
me work on creating positive peace rhymes illustrated by my colorful paper
collages.”

SHANTI
: Peace Collages
by V.Balu
© 1987. 94 pages with
63 collages.
According to reviewer
Homi J. Vakeel, "This book is an outstanding example of peace
education to alert public opinion and mobilize individuals to will and work
for peace….. Too often is the idea of peace associated in people’ minds
with drabness, lack of color and adventure. One look at Balu’s Collages is
enough to dispel such notions. The works are a blaze of exciting rhythms,
of vibrations that one can almost feel..."
