Teacher lingo is the name that we give those annoying little words and phrases that teachers just can't seem to stop using. (Sometimes it makes us think that the teachers have to learn these phrases while training.) We've got a pretty good collection to make fun of, so stop and take a look!
Eyes on me: A command to look at the teacher.
"Eyes on me, Kelly," Mrs. Katzer told the student who was not paying attention.

Focus: A command to pay attention.
"Class, please focus," said the third-grade teacher, looking at her students wearily.

Voices off:  A command to stop talking. One of the most common phrases in the world of teacher lingo.
"Voices off, Melissa," Miss Warren commanded the talkative girl.

Visit: To talk.
"When you are done with your work, you may visit quietly," said Ms. Miller.

Quiet sign: A sign invented by teachers/principals to make kids quiet (or at least try to!)
As the principal held up the quiet sign, most students in the gym were silenced as the assembly began.

(NOTE: If you actually do say these phrases, then don't freak out ~ I've only heard teachers use these!!)
