THE MANY FACES OF < -----------------BOND JAMES BOND----------------------------------------------------------->
Ian Flemming's inspiration for his first Bond novel (Casino Royale) came from the actions of ww11 being of a symbolic means of escape he turned to hiding out inside a casino therefore giving him the imagination to become James Bond. The name James Bond was taken from a book which lay on Flemmings coffee table the book entitled Birds of the world by James Bond. and it was there where the story begins. Richard Burton and James Stewart were consided to play Bond but it was a coffin polisher, milkman and part time seaman who was given the job of bringing Bond to life, that man was of course the amazing Sean Connery. Albert Broccoli was responsible for bringing Bond to screen in which he continued to do so for 3 decades as would Maurice Binder who had 15 minutes to design the opening credits for the Bond film DR.No he came up with the now famous gun barrel motion before each opening. as to was the music to accompany the motion this was down John Barry's trade mark theme now a classic. Dr.NO was a surprise hit on the 1962 action film industry throughout the world. The film "from Russia with love incorporated Flemming's original ideas of realism. Each Bond film came with a new thrill among a new hit song, such as that of Shirley Bassey's hit song Goldfinger performed in the film of the same name. Along with the girls and gadgets James bond would not be Bond without a ride and the stunning Aston Martin became Bonds partner. We all saw what the Martin was made of when in the film 'A man with a golden gun' starring Roger Moore was that in which the stunt would include the Martin travelling at high speed over a broken bridge. With George Lazenby starring as Bond in-between Connery and Moore it was time to distinguish who was bond, bond was all of them each bringing a different element to the character, within the next year of Moore, Connery was back to play bond in the remake of thunderball a film called 'never say never again' seen the return of Connery appearing as bond in almost 12 years since we last seen him in the role, so why Connery was it because he was the preferred best or was it something else. A year Moore was back playing Bond, so in a bit of a confusion what was switch as it where, a veiw to a kill marked Moore's 7th and final appearance as bond, so now on the look-out for a new James. A Shakespearean actor by the name of Timothy Dalton was brought in to become 007. Dalton fitted in comfortably into Bonds shoes giving his own suttle shading to the Bond character. Based on a short story by Flemming seen in the London Sunday times "the living daylights" was created. Moving from the Jarbolta & tangi setting to the England & Australia location this film also seen the return of Bond's trusty machine the Aston Martin. Licence to kill, represented Dalton's soft-more (1st) outing Bond role with action taking him to Florida that resurrected the Bond sensual elements of Dr.NO & Thunderball 25 years before. Dalton only made two appearances as Bond before handing the reigns over to one Pierce Brosnan, who was introduced to acting by a friend, he was immediately enthralled and it wasn't long before he was making a name for himself. Brosnan who was set to take over the role of Bond before Dalton but due to his ties with 'Remington Steele' he was unable to take up the role at the time. The Bond series was postponed for six years it wasn't until 1995 that Bond was saved from extinction. In 1995 we seen the return of Bond in the film 'Goldeneye' starring the man the fans wanted to see, that man was indeed Pierce Brosnan who was now free to step into Bond's shoes, bringing the live back into Bond. Bonds unprecedented endurance as Bond and literature sensation has assured its place in the Lexicon (dictionary) of our times. His name has become synonymous with entertainment, romance, and death-defying thrills his action influence can be seen in the Indiana Jones series, while his sophisticated spy techniques had become a unmissible in prime time television, also a new modern James Bond image can be found in the Austin Powers series, this spoof of Bond captures the elements of good vs bad, fast cars and sexy women all the aspects of the original James Bond. Through it all JAMES BOND remains the no#1 box office attraction in the world appealing to audiences of every race, age and language. Making him one of the phenomenal figures in the history of the movies. JAMES BOND 007

A DIFFERENT BOND: The difference between Connery and Moore was that Connery was more of a masculine Bond. Whom you could believe to throw a punch or killing someone before turning without a pause to kiss a woman. Moore, by comparasion seemed more at home in a tux, drinking martini shaken not stirred and delivering the pun with a raised eyebrow, then he did in the action scenes and at being cold and ruthless. Connery was a rugged Bond, ruthless when he needed to be whilst Moore plays it more laid-back with ease and comfort.

IS AUSTIN POWERS JAMES BOND IN DISGUISE? Mike Myers must be a Bond fan as not only does his films do an excellent job in spoofing the Bond series it also pays way for the spy-mania of the 60's Austin Powers is a man on a mission just like bond he is in the fight against evil and just like bond he drives fast cars, as a way with the ladies. If we replaced Bond's suit with Austin's jazzy clothes then they would be one of the same.
