Balance - September 22, 2000

The delicate balance
between light and dark
hinges upon the strength
that we find within ourselves
to guide our lives
beyond the day to day.

It needs but one word,
one thought,
one moment in time
where life
and death
are but a breath apart.

Like the meekest of candles,
in the morning gloam,
faintly seen in the distance,
that one point
remains the reason
why we continue
to walk the road
into the dawning sun.
