Crab Cakes - August 6, 2000

It was the golden brown crust
that lures us in - 
a veritable feast for the senses
as the harbour scents
mix in with
the delectable taste
of the offerings of the sea

The only time
where a hard cake
is made from
soft-shelled creatures -
the first taste
is the hook
that catches our hunger
and reels us in

Each small sliver
white-gold as the
cake crumbles easily
to the hungry eyes.
