Design Criteria

Injection Moulding is used.

All the plastic parts have the 1-degree draft angle to eject easily for injection moulding. The fillet or blending radiuses of the edges was needed to reduce the stress concentration. The best design is to minimise the number of parts that is produced in the shower holder.

Material selection

The ABS (Arcylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) or PS (Polystyrene) was selected. It has a high yield modulus and elastic modulus, heat-resistance or resistant to heat distortion. Moreover, it has the outstanding strength and toughness. The main thing is easily to use in injection moulding.

2-Dimensional Drafting

The 2D drafting should have the dimension and tolerance for the design of manufacture or assembly. All the thickness of the parts should be the same (2mm). 2D drafting is quite important to show all the dimension of the parts.

This is a final assembly. (final_assembly.prt)

All the files are in all shower.prt. All sub-assemblies are: U:\etang\shower_headaa.prt (shower head holder), shower_headbb.prt (Shower adjustment rail), shower_headcc.prt (To fix Shower Adjustment height), shower_screw (Screw).
