Step-by-Step Research Guide

  1. Skim through the categories of information at the top of the Resources section.
  2. Which subjects most interest you?
  3. Take a quick look at the web sites in one subject.
  4. Evaluate a web site's usefulness to you by considering:
    • reading level;
    • the type of information;
    • who created the source (is it a source you can trust?);
    • what pictures or graphics will contribute to your knowledge.
  5. If the web site is useful, take notes in your own words using the Information Organizer.
  6. Record the URL and web site name where you find each piece of information.
  7. After you have collected information on one subject, go back to step one to find information on another subject.
