WARNAKULASURIYA PRASANGA DILIP KUMAR FERNANDO
I was born in 1982 being the youngest of three. My father had been a fisherman in south thoduwawa. mother was a housewife. Due to some reasons my family was estranged. Mother had to ask for the divorce. Alcohol & uneducatedness were among the main reasons. Working hard, mother carried the family with the help of grand father. finally mother decided to go abroad as a solution for the poverty. thereafter we were parted. I was with my grand parents.
In 1992, I could pass the year 5 scholarship exam. And also we were in a severe period as there was a war in Kuwait where mother worked then. there was no any notice from mother to prove that she was still alive. Fortunately she was safe and returned home.
I changed my school from st/ theresa Maha Viduhala to ch/ Senananyaka central college Madampe. In 1997 I joined to the school volley ball team but after one year I left it for my studies as it was about to GCE O/L exam.
I passed the exam well in 1998 and selected science subjects for my A/Ls. My subjects were Biology, Physics, Chemistry & English. Fortunately I passed the exam in 2001 as the best in the Science section. However my results were not enough for medicine & I was selected to agriculture in Wayamba University.
before to enter that I wanted to improve my knowledge of English & participated to Sarasavi English school K'pitiya. Within one year I was in a good status. I participated to the GELT programme also.
In 21st Nov. 2002, Iwas enrolled to the Faculty of Agriculture & Plantation Management in Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.(2003/05/01)
Now I'm ready to pass out from the university. Many experiences have been gained so far.
I was specialized in Department of Biotechnology under a better intellectual, Prof. Tilak Attanayake . Since my second day of university enrollment I tried think as a whole batch not as an individual undergraduate, which resulted in many more experiences. I have performed satisfactory level of my education career. I've earned several certificates, once a color award for sport activities i participated during my university life.
I have met many sort of people both among students and staff, some are better and good while some are worse and bad. there were humans as well as beasts. they changed me a lot. I was attacked by several inhumanities and secured by some humanities. in the 1st year I served as a member of the Students' Council. That made everybody to recognize me and my philosophies resulting two sectors; the larger portion of the students and staff LOVED ME while some corrupts and egotists refused me.
After many tragicomedy times, I was reputed with many nicknames "MAGODIS, PROFESSOR, ASARANA SARANA, AMADYAPA, etc". from friends and "JANATHAPUTHRA and such names from the staff"
Still I don't hate those inhumanities in the university but I believe there should be a DEVINE RETRIBUTION for what they've done for the innocent students even though they have pasted hundreds of thousands of LORD BUDDHA'S PICTURES on their residents and vehicles.
Many staff members had recognized me as just and true and trustworthy but the worst staff member I've recognized did a marvelous job within few days with his very talkative and convincing but false words. All staff members but few believed him and I never tried to answer that. This resulted with a NOTORIOUS DILIP from that POPULAR DILIP among the staff.
However this couldn't defeat me. Once I was admitted to a hospital due to an allergic reaction, a continuous flow of huge number of students visited me (most of the time I had been unconscious )and it surprised the doctors nurses and attendants and even my mother and brother too. they indicated their love on me. It was really love and unity. I really enjoyed happy. I believe money or something else cant do that. they appreciated my ideas my thinking over the society. I expressed my intimates that I WAS NOT DEFEATED.
But later again several false statements and the mental violence spreaded against the unity and intimacy among the students , could change certain views of the students. Many of them have changed their way of real behavior so that they could safeguard their future that had been severely attacked by the cruelty and inhumanity in the university. Now talking about justice, truth, equality and basic human rights would result in reduced GPA marks , failing the subjects, losing classes and suspendings or warnings. I'm really worry about this pathetic situation where good personalities are made spineless. I 'm sorry about the future of my country due to the results of these brutalities which adulates yes sayers (eheiyos). they will perform as they've treated.
I did my research in VETERINARY RESEARCH INSTITUTE under several better educateds Dr. Chandrasiri, Mr. Sunil Gamage are among them.
Now I'm undergoing my InPlant Training in VRI
I wish I'd be able to be a well educated one whom well aware of students way of behavior and needs etc to be intellectuals in the future
I LOVE MY MOTHERLAND
