What
the Holly Bible says
The Bible has been subjected to many more criticisms. Some people criticize it as a fake statement whilst another groups the opposite. As I see the holly Bible is an invaluable collection of books in two aspects; in literature aspect & religiously. Literature in Bible says how much talented were they even in BC in narrating to show the deep insights & knowledge about the world. It gives much information about the changes of generation to generation & their cultures. In the first book the writer has strived to give a better beginning for the religion.
In this article, my attempt is to describe what I get from the bible in nutshell.
First of all the writer describes the origin of the world. Everything is in a story format so that uneducated people also could understand & he has best tried to stress the almighty power of God. If we moderately examine what has happened according to the writer, it seems that writer admitted there had been a step-by-step changes in the world or he has tried to show so. God has done this within 7 days. What does this say ? as I see this should be 7 eras or any other time scale. What, if I use it happened or occurred so, instead of God has done so. I can see a little relation between the above step-by-step changes & the new philosophies of the origin of the world ( but not completely ). The obstacle to see this may be the words & phrases like " God invented/ said' etc. the writer wanted to emphasize the almighty power of God that's why it has been written in this way.
However, if we left the adulations of God, we would see the almighty power of the nature. Due to this power or God the origin of the world occurred. (here, I've restricted only to world because it may confuse if we talk about the whole universe. It is very complicative. )
The writer says, the man, Adam, was invented by dust. What does this imply ? here, dust means nothing but elements or atoms. Those days nobody knew atoms or elements. Sometimes even those words were not there. By their experience they admitted that man was made up of smaller particles like dust. The writer use this knowledge in the narration. Not only man but also everything was the same however, the writer described only about the man.
There is another point that is it says God invented man as same as God is. What does this say ?. I think this writer had a remarkable consciousness which is called the power of Holly Spirit in Christianity, to think in this way. The meaning is that man & God (the power of nature ) are alike not physically but mentally or consciously. The writer had seen the almighty power within man, but rarely anybody tries to make use of it. This is emphasized by another phrase saying God handed over the world to the man's authority. Man can manage the nature as he wishes not by physical attempts but mental power.
(I feel that a same thing is repeating as this universe itself doing. The nature made man & man was allowed to control the nature as well as man is making a man (
robot ) & will allow him (it) to control man. As man is destroying the nature, the man made man will destroy the man.)
however several persons has tried to make use of this inherited power in several aspects. For example the prince Siduhat tried to understand everything. Buddhists believe that Enlightment of Siduhat (becoming to the Buddathwaya) is the noblest achievement that a man can. It may be true because although the Buddha could do many things, He didn't do & say. Once He had said that there were many things to say but the paucity of words was the barrier & that those who needed come and see in this way.
Not only Buddha but several of His fellows could achieve that natural power to certain extent. If we leave the religious thinking for a while, Jesus is also a man who could do this to some extent. Some philosophers & scientists are also winners but in limited directions.
What this writer says is that everybody has the natural power if we at least think of it.
Sometimes you may be confused with this almighty power of nature. I may try to describe as my better possibility. However I must say this is beyond our knowledge. This power is constituted of several forces. These forces (as we can think )are of two kinds; physical & mental . Physical forces are taught in physics ( heat, sound, waves; electromagnetic or other Vander Val ,h bonds adhesive, cohesive forces etc. ) & mental forces are being studied in parapsychology & available in Buddhism. There might be another set of forces that may not be relevant to the above two & something that is not understood/ recognized/ discovered yet. the almighty power of nature is able to perform both physical and mental. I
think it's enough to describe what like I think of the almighty power of the
nature, in religious way, God.
the Bible says, early men, Adam
& Ewe were naked & later they prepared some clothing. the writer says
there had been a stone era & later they the civilization was in the
scene. this indicates the change of the ordinary wild people into a moralistic
society. then the story of the Kayne & Abel has been narrated to show to
eras which we call ...shepherd & farmers. (In some cases I admit that
indicates the interaction of good & bad & the existence of bad in the
world.) to say in this way, I've found several points in the Bible. if only
there had been only four people in the world why did kayne cultivate something,
harvest & offered God for more harvest and why did Abel had a nice herd of sheep
?
It's crystal clear that the writer
needed to present the idea of the origin of the universe & about the
almighty power of the nature in nutshell & narratively so that normal people
were able to grab the meanings. the ability of the writer in thinking &
literature here is very appreciatable as it somewhat agrees to the modern
theories of the origin. It is not totally agreed. there might have many reasons
for that: may be the writer needed only to adulate God, may be
translations are not quite ordered.
nova
i think the origin of the religion may be after the Abraham. Beyond that may
be only narrations to express some insights, customs, & cultures. Up to
the Abraham's period, the most prevalent beliefs were a sort of polytheism.
there had been so many gods & goddesses. it was somewhat wild because there
had been some child sacrifications also. However Abraham made a change that was
instead of the polytheism, he introduced monotheism & also instead of child
sacrifications, animal sacrifications were introduced. however I can't give a
defined period for this change. the periods may overlapped.( in the writer's
period sacrification of animal or crop harvests were there that's why he used
them in Kayne Abel story)
Re: Jesus was a socialist ? a beginning to discuss
AAyubowan apikauda and Sahan and all
It's really good to have Apikauda for this sort of discussion
Usually you are advising :-$us (sometimes blaming us):(
Yes as Apikauda says some of ideas on my religion (which came from my generation ) were studied as much as possible by me. then I realised some of theories of Jesus
I really happy that I can say my religion is ok to be followed. However it is not the way that other people follow it. I'm not adhered to some of misconceptions. I just want to follow Jesus who wanted to serve the down trodden people. Who had recognised the tragedies faced by the poor people. And most importantly he had the courage to enlighten people of getting rid of that sufferings
he was a real leader
I still reiterate that I'm neither christian nor Buddhist by practice. But i'm trying to follow both.
To the fact.........
Yes as Apikauda says I have my own way of declaring my beliefs.
For Confession/Paw samawa There are few steps to be completed to be forgiven by God (or in your view to be safe from the result of the deed-- Karmaya i might say)
This idea was developed by me after studying the five precepts of Buddhist Philosophy and presented to a priest he agreed
First You must realize You have Perpetrated
Then you must be sorry (true to your Conscience)
Then you must determine not to do it again (true to your Conscience) (this is enough for non Christians)
then You may Promise God about this and really behave as determined.
If this happens appropriately your heart will realize that you have been forgiven by God
Dear Sahan I have enjoyed once this felicity of forgiving So I believe this
And I have determined not to do such a (simple even) mistake.
But unfortunately it is rare that Our so called Christians get real forgiving.
This idea was valued by a priest but I don't know whether they are using in their discourses.
Still I have written some critiques on Bible http://www.geocities.com/pdkfernando/Articles.htm
We have to disscuss other things too
