Special Message
to
Sri Lankans who are well educated and influential in the country’s
administration!
We educated should get
together for the sake of the future generations and the prosperity of our
motherland. We always blame the lethargic, malfunctioning and corruptive govt.
servants and other officials as they are responsible for the all the drawbacks
in the progress of the country.
Have
we done our job accurately? Let’s correct ourselves first.
Let’s
think of country’s development first, not ours.
Everybody believes FREE
EDUCATION did a lot for the country’s poors/ poverty.
But
only university students scream for preserving it.
Why can’t we get together with them at least by positive words (usually
our higher ranked people castigate on student’s behavior). Students should be
allowed to study hard for the sake of the country. We responsibles must act on
development of the free education (not to shrink it further).
We
should recognize the level of our country’s economy and bearing all these
challenges we should serve our country and its sake. At least those who leave
should keep in mind whatever the challenges met during his/her presence here
should be overcome by ourselves at our level so that the next scientist would
not meet the same matter during his/her presence here. We
need to break this unwanted brain drain.
Those
who scream for privatization of the education must keep in mind that the narrow
mindedness of them will endanger our country’s future.
They must at least listen well to the opposition. (Contact me (think of what has
the private tuition done to AL and youth)).
Governors
still can’t understand this urgent need of a set of well established national
universities and developed school system. If they allocate about 5% capital for
the education for few years with better supervision of utilization, this could
be easily achieved. 5% is not a problem. See, when the national security needed
money, it was allocated accordingly since it was an urgent need.
This is also an urgent need. The slower the action, the more prospective intellectuals neglected.
