Inscription at Soerabaja (12th century?)(Java)
-----------------------------------------------

Taken from: Egbert Heemen: Verhandelingen van het Bataviaasch Genootscha....1913

Two copper plates, from the residency of Soerabaja, on the island of Java; the extract that follows is from the rear side of the second plate. The plates themselves handle about the usage and taxes and rights connected to a piece of land or connected to that land.

.. .. ...kdi(unfertile) waliau(doctor), sambal, sumbul,(police officers) hulunaji,(kings slaves-out of misdeeds?-mostly farmers) janggi(black slave) singgah(slave walking in front of his owner), pabrsih(carries the cushions) watek i jro(slaves -to show off the wealth of the owner-) ityewamadi,(and so forth) tka ri suka,(pleasant) duhka,(unpleasant) mayang(it is indeed) tanpawuh.. .. .. ..

The indication of 12th century is only because of the resemblance of the language used with previous inscriptions.
