P.D.A.P'S TWELVE TRADITIONS

The P.D.A.P traditions are similar to those of A.A, with the addition of PDAPS unique approach.
They were developed as the program expanded and matured. They express the philosphy and    mission of the program PDAP offers young people and their families.

1.  Our common welfare should come first. Personal recovery depends upon PDAP unity .

2.  The primary requirment for membership in PDAP is a desire to seek a solution to a substance abuse problem

3.  PDAP has but one primary purpose, to carry the message of love and understanding to the          substance abuser and their families.

4.  At the group level, the right personal anonymity must be respected.

5.  The symbol of abstinence from mind changing chemicals shall be the monkeys fist. The symbol of parent participation shall be the heart.

6.  PDAP is non-sectarian and will not be denied to any person due to race, color, creed, or             national origin.

7.  PDAP ought never to endorse or oppose any cause, or finance or lend its name to any                enterprise.

8.  For the purpose of continuty, PDAP is a structured program administered by a salariad staff        operating under the authority of the Board of Trustees.

9.  Each PDAP city should operate independently and autonomously, except in matters wich effect    PDAP as a whole.

10.  Policies will be established by each citys Board of Trustees and implemented by staff.

11.  PDAP should remain forever a non-profit organization dedicated to self-help through love           and understanding.

12.  The love of the group and  help to others is the spiritual foundation of out traditions, ever           reminding us to place principles before personalities..
