| Oil leaks that mysteriously spray oil over the passenger side inner fender may be caused by a missing bolt on the front of your engine. The fan blows the oil over to the right and back away from the source so it isn't apparent where the leak is coming from.
These holes where originally used for '55 Chevy front motor mounts. The upper RH bolt hole goes through into the fuel pump boss. It is plugged with a short 3/8"-16 bolt. Using too long of a bolt will score or seize the fuel pump push rod. When changing your fuel pump you can use a longer bolt to hold the push rod in the up position (damper at TDC). Remember to put the short one back in when finished. |
