Mrs. Curtis is
a strong supporter of the “Hands on, Minds on” approach to teaching
science. Simply put, students learn best
when they are personally involved working with the concepts presented in
class. The daily lessons include
activities that require child involvement to enhance the learning process, Science
night is an extension of this belief.
The best way to learn about the Scientific Method is to use it, learning
how to apply these components to one’s everyday life. It is more important for the children to understand
how to properly solve a problem constructed form their prior/current knowledge. Teaching children how to organize their
thinking will help prepare them for their future endeavors.
