Flickr Pictures ![]() I have put a few pictures up on Flickr. This is one of the pictures I posted. It is a bit hard to read. What is says "If information's the currency of democracy, then libraries are it's banks." by Senator Wendall Ford. When I was visiting my cousins in Colville, I went to the library to do what else? -- answer my work email! I saw this quote on the book return box and had to take a picture of it. I will post a few more pictures to Flickr from home. When I drove across country in 2001, I stopped at libraries in almost every town I visited and sent emails home to friends and family. The emails were basically my jounal of the trip. I used them in my scrapbook. When I returned, I wrote to ALA to thank them for the signs of a person reading a book. I would follow those signs as I hit a town and always found a friendly, helpful staff person who was interested to hear where I was from and to help me secure a computer. I only had to wait in Memphis for a computer. To be fair, it was only a few days after 9/11/01 and everyone was trying to connect with family and friends around the world to assure them they were okay. 2007-03-02 17:15:38 GMT
