The print screen ([prntscrn],[print screen/SysRq])key on your keyboard is used in windows 3.1x/9x to capture an image of your desktop to the clipboar. In order to use this feature you can simply display your desktop,press [print screen] key then paste it in a paint program .You can easly save it and for sure you'll be able to edit it as well.
On the Start menu,click Run.type REGEDIt and then click OK.Follow this path:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware/Description\System\CentralProcessor\0.
Double click VendorIdentifier and put space between "Genuine" and "Intel".Close REGEDIT,right click on My Computer
and select Proerties.You'll see a bit more information about your computer listed underneath the 'Genuine Intel' line. windows98 comes with a utility called Registry Checker that backs up the registry each time you turn on your
computer,and scans the Registry at every restart.
If the Registry Checker finds a problem with your Registry ,it would automatically replace it with your most recent backup copy.
To run the Registry Checker,click the start button.Point to programs>>Accessories>>System tools.Click System Information.Click Tools from the menu bar then registry Checker.
To access your backup copies at any time ,reboot your computer to the Command Prompt.(Hold down the CTRL key at restart ,and choose step number 5 from the microsoft win98 startup menu).
At the Command Prompt type "scanreg/restore" then press Enter key.The Registry Checker will scan your registry again and then display a list with the five most recent backupcopies,listed by date.highlight the one you wish to restore then press Enter.
Then press Enter again to restart.
To only restart windows and save time, hold down the Shift key while clicking on OK(after choosing RestartThe Computer). From Start menu choose Settings .Click on Add/Remove programs .Find Internet Explorer in the list of programs ,highlight it and click Add/Remove.
A message of three choices will appear .Choose repair then restart your Pc. The option allows you to stop users from being able to shutdown the computer,by disabling the Shutdown commannd.
To do this follow the path :[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer].Right click and Choose NEW then DWORD .Name the vale NoClose then modify it (0=enable shutdown,1=disable shutdown). Enabling this options hides all the items and programs and on the windows desktop.To start follow the path :[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Policies\Explorer.
Create a new value with the name NoDesktop of type DWORD.Modify the data of the value with 0 to disable and 1 to enable.
