Two hospitals located in Lynchburg, Virginia are operated by Centra Health -- Lynchburg General Hospital (30 miles) and Virginia Baptist Hospital (36 miles). There are eight doctors, five dentists, three optometrists and rehabilitation associates in the Hurt and Altavista areas. Volunteer rescue squads provide ambulance services from neighboring Altavista and Gretna.
Staunton River Family Physicians (SRFP), a division of Central Virginia Family Physicians, Inc. is located on Main Street in the Town of Hurt. SRFP provides primary care to area residents. In collaboration with Staunton River Medical Center, SRFP provides indigent care sliding fee scale and prescribed medications to qualifying patients. |
In addition, the Centra Health organization and Danville Regional Hospital both manage Family Practice Centers within 15 miles of Hurt.
