Frequently Asked Questions

Peer Counselors are trained, volunteer student paraprofessionals who work with the Guidance Office to extend counseling services to the student body.

Your first contact with a Peer Counselor may be during New Student Orientation. Peer Counselors assist new students by conducting campus tours, sponsoring social events, explaining the registration process, and answering many questions about campus life.

Peer Counselors also help students to adjust to the campus environment by serving as peer mentors: keeping in touch, meeting regularly, and informing students about campus resources during their first semester.

The Peer Counselors have office hours in the Guidance Office to meet with students individually about personal, social, and academic concerns. All sessions with peer counselors, as with the professional counselors, are completely CONFIDENTIAL.

Peer Counselors work with the professional counselors in a variety of other ways, including helping lead workshops and make presentations to classes, assisting with mediation when two or more students need help resolving a conflict, or even working with groups in the community. The current group of peer counselors plans each year's activities.

Guidance Office is located at Room 201W, Summit Centre, ZAEC Tetuan Campus. Peer Counselors' availability or schedules are posted outside the office.

Perhaps you need to let off some steam about the stress of school or life in general; or a serious issue that you are not ready to talk with a professional but need some help; or a quick academic question; or you need someone to talk to who is also a student and can provide a peer's perspective; or things are going well in your life and you want someone to share that with.

You may reach or make an appointment to see Ms. Clarissa Jaba or Mrs. Janet Pangilinan at the Guidance Office at Tel# 9913929 local 123. You may also email us at [email protected].
