Anna's credibility as police chief is destroyed because of the Duke and Camilla fiasco. Even though she didn’t know about of the cover up of Evan Jerome's murder, she blames herself for not following her instincts.  She decides to leave Port Charles.

Robin gets angry with Anna because she doesn’t want to leave Port Charles.

Duke and Camellia stand trial in L'Orleans, Canada.   Jake Meyers helps their Canadian attorney. "Nothing matters without Anna."  Says Duke in response to Jake’s predicition that they will go free. The judge lets them go since there are no witnesses to prove that Duke and Camellia’s didn’t kill him in self dense.  Evan's widow, Veronica, vows to get revenge for her husband's death.

Duke flys to Port Charles, he doesn't see Anna, who does she him but boards the plane to NY anyway.  Duke's devastated when he learns Anna's gone.

Duke finds out from Filomena where Anna was staying. And he gets into Anna’s room. She is angry and orders him to leave.  Duke refuses to give up. He gets a seat next to Anna on the plane back to PC and he spends the flight trying to explain what happened to her.

Duke and Anna get back together. They plan their Scottish wedding.  Complete with bagpipes and kilts. They honeymoon in Scotland.
