While in attendance at the annual Policeman's ball, Anna Lavery is presented with a sprig of heather from a darkly handsome man.  Little did Anna know what she would be in for.  The man with a Scottish accent, dark hair and eyes was Duke Lavery.

Coming across as an honest, hardworking business man and nightclub owner, Duke had a dark side.  That being that he was a member of the Mob.

Duke was running for the Dockworkers Union President. However at the same time he was deeply involved in a money laundering operation.

As Duke started to fall in love with Anna he decided that he wanted out of the Mob.

Duke defeated Jimmy Lee Holt in the election.

Duke decided that it would be very hard for him to get out of the organization and that it would be safer for Anna and Robin if he quit seeing them.

Damon Grenville - "Mr. Big's" right hand man - arrived in Port Charles to make sure that "Operation Tumble Dry" was in full operation.  Damon demands that Duke take care of the cop that was nosing around.  That cop was Frisco Jones.
