| On this page, I will tell you about the seasons of the heart and how change is a good thing. Although at times you may stumble, or suffer deep pain, [emotionaly, physically] such instances will bring you change. You may be thinking that change is a bad thing and should be avoided. However, let me partake this time of yours to share with you why I have come to relay change as a good and wonderful thing. Change. Some may cringe at the sound of the word. But why has change become an absence in our lives? Do we fear it? Do we despise it? All I know is that change is one of the greatest seasons in our lives and too many Christians run from it. God brings about change to strengthen us. But it's in our hands to use this change for growth. I used to avoid change like the plague; I feared and hated it so. As I child, I remember everytime my Mother would move the house around, I cried...everytime my family moved, I sniffled...everytime I had to start a new school year, I screeched. You may laugh, but there are full grown Christians who return the same emotions toward God when He brings change. Now, I understand how difficult it is to accept change wholeheartedly. But, do you desire to grow in life? Let me ask you, would you prefer for God to allow you to stay the same way, or would you rather He heal you and bring you into a new season? When you look at change like that, the answer almost seems easy. There's a common gesture that I am familiar with, and it goes something like this: God loves you too much to let you stay the way you are. You may disagree and that's fine. However, I believe that this quote holds an important message. God does indeed love us too abundantly to let us remain our sinful selves. He desires for us to grow in each new season, whether this season be of strife or blessing. Many Christians also question why God allows pain and struggle to seep in their lives. Although I am still uncovering the answer, I can share with you some encouragement. God plans everything. He knows how many hairs rest upon your head, He knows where you'll go tomorrow, and He knows your heart's lust. It is with His care that all things are made. Now, when pain is brought into our lives, it is because God has allowed it. Remember that Satan must ask for permission from God before he can get to you. No. This doesn't mean that God brings evil or fear, because God is not a God of those things. However, this does mean that God understands you well enough to know how you'll react to this sorrow. He will allow Satan to only go so far...whether this limitation rest at temptation, fear, or deep pain. Just remember that God always works together good for those who love Him. So, no matter how high the hurdle may be, God will walk you through every step. All that happens to you now is exactly what God has prepared you for. Do not be afraid. With that said, live today; live tomorrow! Always stay close to the Savior and understand that He knows exactly what you're going through. No obstacle is too great for Him; So let change slowly intertwine with your heart. I pray that each season becomes a growth for you and that every tear a new understanding. God is with you, always. {home} All rights reserved. Courtesy of Patrick Levis: Our brother in Christ, 2001-2003. |
