The focus of this course is to understand the world we inhabit from a socio-ecological perspective. The basic assumption of this course is that social systems get shaped by and shape the physical ecologies. This seminar is based on an international, comparative approach. Through the juxtapostion of socio-environmental histories of India and the Midwestern United States, we will explore topics like deforestaion, species loss, land degradation, loss of livelihood, overpopulation, consumption, global warming, and weath creation/waste generation. We will focus specifically on issues local to North East Ohio, particularly the Great Lakes, Cuyahoga River and the Cuyahoga Valley. Redesigned the course from an expert-coach based model to a peer-coach/mentor model in a workshop format which can be easily translated to an executive audience. Instructor, Human Values in Organization (MBAC 413A) � Summer 2003 Responsible for course material selection, syllabus development, course delivery, and grading for this core introduction to organizational behavior and analysis course for Full time �Accelerated� (48-hour) CWRU M.B.A. students. In this course, a variety of teaching methods were used to cover topics such as changing organizational structures, organizational analysis, critical organizational analysis, organization and the environment, values in and of organizations. This course was offered in an accelerated, modular format. Co-Instructor, Introduction to Organizational Behavior � Fall 2004, Co-instructed this introductory undergraduate course in Organizational Behavior. Responsibilities included course delivery including leading sessions, coaching individual students and groups, and grading individual papers, and group papers and presentations. Facilitator, CWRU Leadership Assessment and Development (MBAC 410/MBAC 403) � Fall, 2001, Spring 2002, Fall 2002, Spring 2003, Summer 2003, Fall 2003, Summer 2004, Fall 2004) Delivered this core managerial competency-based assessment and development course with lead instructor and other facilitators. Performed small group exercise facilitation, feedback, critical incident interviewing, one-on-one coaching, and grading for two Executive Action Teams (EATs). Each EAT consists of 6 to 8 full-time or eight part time M.B.A. students. Led the class in discussion around Values and Personal Vision exercise. Designed and delivered a guided imagery exercise to articulate Personal Vision. Facilitator, Women in Organizations � Spring 2003 With Dr. Diana Bilimoria, and one other facilitator, I shared responsibility for grading, logistics, planning preparation of course materials, large and small group facilitation, and fulfilling facilitator-participant roles. This is an MBA elective course at CWRU with enrollment of 80 students. Coordinator, Leadership Fellowship Program, Department of Family Medicine, 2002-2003 Focused on Leadership Development for Physician-Faculty, this program involved developing appropriate training modules, contextualizing them for the concerned populations, organizing a series of seminars and creating spaces for conversation and learning. I also designed and conducted a workshop on Leading Diverse Organizations for the fellows. Co-Instructor and Facilitator, Developing Interpersonal Skills for Managers (ORBH 303/403) � Spring 2002 Co-Participant/Co-Facilitator of a group of ten undergraduate and graduate students in an experiential, non-task-oriented learning group, similar to a �T group�. Involved in the design and delivery of the course. Designed a visual, dramaturgical exercise to capture and demonstrate the various stages of group development and facilitated the same in the large group. Facilitated the large-group �ice-breaker� exercise. Coached small groups towards successful completion of real life inquiries to collect �Golden Innovations� by organizations in the realm of Business and Society interface.
