Quilt Top Preparations
1. Press quilt top and trim all thread. 2. Remove selvage edges of backing before seaming. 3. Backing (and batting, if you chose to supply your own) should be at least 6" wider and 8" longer than the quilt top. 4. Backing edges should be even and squared up. 5. Press backing well and trim threads. 6. Do Not pin or baste the laters **Additional charges may apply for preparations of the quilt top as needed before quilting. Preparations include, but are not limited to, repairs, pressing, seaming, squaring-up or thread trimming.
Labels ~ If you have a designated label for the backing, please set it into your backing in your preparations. Please note which side of quilt is the top, or head of bed, if this is relavant to label design or placement. Simply pinning a written note to the top on one edge is sufficient. We will always assume there are no particular instructions otherwise. If you aren't sure about labels.... check this out: www.squishyquilts.com Home of the Squishable, Lovable Quilt ~ Quilt labels made to order.
I reserve the right to refuse any quilt or batting. All problems will be discussed with the quilt top owner before any work is started.
As a courtesy to our customers, we trim all quilts unless otherwise requested. Trimming includes removing all excess batting or backing from the quilted item on the perimeter of the top. This tidies the edges and offers itself to immediate binding when returned to the owner.
