| The Quilter's Thread encourages faithful swaps and activities. All activities are done on the honor system. A return of respect for others is required to fulfil any swap commitment. Please consider this wisely and notify one of the Founder's with questions or concerns. | Friends in Blocks Participants send a 12.5" block of the "winner's" choice of pattern, theme or colors monthly. Blocks must be made with better qualtiy Quilting 100% Cotton. We want the blocks to be uniform in their weights, etc to fit into projects where ever they go! An e-mail notification will give participants the details regarding the monthly winner. This is a once per month event of one block. Participants will send out one block each month (unless they are the chosen winner). This event started in September 2003 and according to the list of participants, will run for approximately 22 months. Once you are in, you're in for the long-haul, so to speak. Our lovely hostess, Tojosie39, will send out emails at the end of each month indicating the winner of the next Friends in Blocks Quilt top for the upcoming month. This email will dictate the pattern of block and colors chosen by the winner. This lucky winner will look forward to receiving blocks throughout the month and will have enough blocks to make a complete quilt when the month is over. Deadline each month for mailing is the 20th and the club encourages (and enforces) these deadlines to keep events on schedule and keep participants as active members.** ** Participants that are neglegent to their commitments will be removed from activity until current status is reached. | Themed FQ Swap A Fat Quarter is a piece of fabric measuring 22" x 18". A yard of 42-44" fabric can be equally cut into four FQs. A reminder e-mail or message board post is sent out to remind you of upcoming swaps. Addresses for each swapper participating will be provided. Each swap will mean sending a FQ to EACH member on the address list. The list has been maintaining between 6 - 10 participants (or 2-3 yards of fabric).* This is a great way to add to your stash with the different themed prints that are available in different areas of the country or world.
