Rompin Rifles 03-04
Here at Pearl City the Rifle Guard is constantly practicing and developing new tricks to do with our rifles. Because of the diversity of the tricks that we do they can be separated into several categories:Basics, Show Moves, Advanced Tricks

Basics

Basic tricks are the some of the first things we teach to the incoming freshmen. They include left and right hand level and left and right hand spins. These appear in show routines along with the more difficult "Show Moves."

Right Hand Level

A basic horns up position. The right hand is held under the rifle's neck and the left hand is ontop of the rifle's nose.

Left Hand Level

A basic horns up position. The left hand is held under the rifle's barrel and the right hand is ontop of the rifle's butt.

Right Hand Spins

Exactly as it sounds. The rifle is spun with the right hand.

Left Hand Spins

Same as right hand spin execpt the left hand is used to spin the rifle.

Tik-Toks

The rifle is swung from one hand to the other like a pendulum.

Boxes

The rifle is placed around the body as to form a box.

Show Tricks

These are tricks that we teach to the new rifles after a couple weeks. They are commonly found in our show routines.

Singles

A basic aerial. The rifle is thrown in the air and does one full rotation.

Doubles

A basic aerial. The rifle is thrown in the air and does two full rotations.

Triples

A basic aerial. You know how it goes...

Double Time

The rifle is spun twice as fast as normal with assistance from the left hand.

Over-Head Spins

The rifle is spun over your head in a horizontal plane. It can be done in left or right hand level.

Behind-the-Backs

A single is thrown and caught behind the back. It is normally followed by a under the leg toss and a helicopter.

Helicopters

A aerial that is thrown and spins in a horizontal plane. The most common helicopter is a double.

Advanced Tricks

Tricks not commonly found in show routines because of their difficulty. That doesn't mean they're not fun to do. =D

Quads(can be more)

Same as singles, doubles, or triples. Just more spins.

Triple Helicopter(or more)

A helicopter that is thrown more than a double. Can also be a quad or more.

360 Helicopter/Triple

A aerial is thrown and the person turns a full 360 before catching it.

Lying-Down Helicopter/Triple

A aerial is thrown and caught while lying down.

360 Lying-Down Helicopter

The two previous tricks combined. A helicopter is thrown and the person turns around and catches the helicopter lying on his/her back. VERY HARD!!

Behind-the-Back Helicopter

A helicopter is thrown and caught behind the back with the right hand. Can be anywhere from a flip to a single or double.

In-the-Leg Triple

A triple is thrown and caught in the legs. VERY HARD!!

Back-Flip Helicopter

It's as hard as it sounds. A helicopter is thrown, the person does a back flip and catches the rifle. VERY HARD!! DO NOT TRY AT HOME!!

720 Helicopter

The person turns around twice before catching a helicopter. VERY HARD!!
