The
expansion adds a number of new features to The
Sims, the wildly popular virtual-life game created
by Maxis that recently became the best-selling
PC game of all time. As its name implies, the
new expansion will let players take their little
virtual people on a vacation to an island filled
with new settings, activities, characters, and
objects.
"Everyone needs to get away from it all sometimes,
and the Sims aren't any different," said
Tim LeTourneau, senior producer at EA's Maxis
studio. "With The Sims: Vacation, the whole
Sims household can get some fun and sun on a fabulous
island getaway."
The
vacation getaway includes three settings--a snowy
alpine area, a beach resort, and a forest campground--and
a wide range of activities such as volleyball,
archery, fishing, snowboarding, and hunting for
hidden treasure. In the course of their trip,
Sims will interact with several new characters
and more than 125 new objects.
The
Sims: Vacation was created by Maxis and will soon
be available in stores for an approximate retail
price of $29.99. For more information, take a
