West Coast Thunder

[POW / MIA]

A Memorial Day Run

This is a Memorial Day run that was founded in 2000, we have been going since WCT III, which was in May of 2002. This run is sponsored by and was founded by members of the Inland Empire Chapter, of the Harley Owners Group. This run is the west coast version of the Run To The Wall run held every year in Washington D.C., and is a fund raiser for the Riverside Vetrans Cemetery. Going to Riverside for this run is also a chance to see all the friends we left when we moved to Northern California. I have included a few pictures from our trips ( so far ) to this run. Hope you enjoy them.

WCT III - May 2002

The day of the run, we got up kind of early, considering how much ( beer & food ) we consumed the night before and how late we were up. It was a little cool and damp so out came the leathers, but it cleared up nicely and was a great day. The pics below are of the parade and ceremonies.

After the ceremony at the cemetery we rode, in small groups, to the park for lunch and venders. Here are some pics from the park.

We left home on Friday morning ( May 28th ) and rode to Gilroy, Calif. and spent the night. The weather was a little threatning.
From Gilroy we went down the 101 to Buelton, Calif where we spent our second night.

From Buelton we rode to Lake Elsinore, Ca, where we stayed with friends for the week end, and attended WCT V on Monday.

On Tuesday we will started back, this time up the 1, spent two nights along the way. During the second day we visited Hurst Castle.

WCT VI - May 2005

We did not attend WCT VI because of our trip to Europe to see Tina's ( My wife ) family. This trip used up all of our vacation time not leaving time for the trip south. We did attend WCT VII!

WCT VII - May 2006

We arrived in Temecula, Ca., where we were staying in Southern California this year. Sunday morning we walked over to "Old Town Temecula" since it was near our Hotel. Here are some pictures we took while there. Sunday afternoon we spent with friends in Lake Elsinore.

WCT VIII & IX - May 2007 & 2008

Because of other trips, we haven't been back down south for West Coast Thunder since May of '06. We are planning, in fact have already made some reservations for our trip this year (2009) to attend WCT X.

WCT X - May 2009

We have to attend this year because the guy that is in charge of the "Honor Guard" is retireing after this year and he is a friend of ours. We will ride down along the coast ( US 101 ) because that is our favorite way to go. Be sure to join us in remembering those who have died defending our freedom! Check back the first part of June for pictures.

This is where the pictures will be, once we get back.
