Reb walks over to Sonia and pulls her off the press and takes her place pushing down the press. There is a silence in the laundry. Reb: It's not like anyone has died. Reb pushes down the press again. Reb: I said you could talk! Chrissie: Maybe we don't want to talk Reb: Now that I'm top dog I say and you do, and I say talk. Reb stares at the other women with disgust. Ann and Meg return to Ann's office. Ann: That was a bit of a handling. Meg: Terrible that a mother could do that to another child. Ann: We'll have to send the child away. Meg: I agree, she is not fit to be a mother. Ann: I'm toying with the idea of bringing her up to H Block Meg: The other women wouldn't take kindly; they're bound to find out about this. Ann: Yes I agree, Sorry but I have to go visit Myra in the hospital. Welcome back. Joan is in the reception when Margo Gaffney is brought in, a Barnhurst officer escorts her. Joan: What are you doing back? Margo: Just back to piss you off. Joan: Oh don't be smart with me. Margo: fine then, I started a riot. Joan: Not surprising, scum like you never change Margo: Oh bugger off Joan: Forgiven yourself yet? Killing those two women. Margo just stands calmly while Pat Slattery takes her details. Margo: Let me tell you this, if it weren't for you, there would be no need for a fire. Joan: Don't be so stupid, you murdered those two women and you know you did Ann is in the hospital talking to the Doctor who has Kahn on his badge. Ann: So she can be brought back? Doctor Kahn: There is nothing we can do for her. If she shows any mental shock it is to be expected. Ann: I'll send for a vehicle now. Doctor Kahn: I would suggest a stay in the infirmary for a while. Ann: I agree. Doctor Kahn: goodbye Marie is in isolation pacing about when Joan opens up the peephole and looks in. Marie: You are one bitch do you know that. Joan: It wasn't me who lagged. Marie: You haven't told anyone have you? Joan: No of course not, who am I going to tell? Marie: Well, who did then? Joan: Kean, I bet she did. Marie: Why would she do this? Joan: Maybe she found out about you and Stevens racket? Marie: We've got to sort her out then. Judy and Chrissie are sitting in Judy's cell. Chrissie: Imagine Reb Kean as top dog. Judy: I'm lucky, I'm out soon. Chrissie: I still think she had something to do with Myra's attack. Judy: Marie Winter's locked up for it anyway. Chrissie: As long as no one harms my baby, I'll be fine. Joyce escorts Margo to her cell. Margo: Talk about a tin of sardines Joyce: I'm sorry but the cells will be reallocated soon. Margo: I should sue you for this you know. Joyce: Oh do wise up Gaffney. Margo: This cell can't be any bigger than box of matches. Reb is in her cell looking through a magazine when Lou walks in. Lou: So you're top dog, good going. Reb: Thanks. Lou: It's about time things around her changed Reb: Believe me they will. Lou: How? Reb: I'm planning on ending a few rivalries. Lou: You're not going to get all motherly are you? Reb: No, I'm going to start the biggest riot Wentworth has ever seen. Lou: Count me in. Reb: There are a few ones I need out of the way, Winter, Ferguson and Stevens Lou: Have you thought about what you're going to do? Reb: I'll start a fire somewhere. I need a set of keys if you could help with that I would be happy. Lou: This sounds good. Reb: I've even got my weapon ready. Lou: Show me. Reb pulls out the baton from its hiding place. Reb: I got it off Ferguson, I don't think she realises it's missing. Lou: How you gonna finish of Ferguson. Reb: The same way I did Desmond. Over the head. Lou: You attacked Desmond? Reb: Yeah, what you make of that? Lou: You have more guts than you let on. Ann arrives back at Wentworth with Myra Desmond in tow. Ann signs in and Myra follows her. Meg then walks past as they walk past. Meg: Welcome back Myra. Myra just seems dazed; she walks past in a trance. Ann: She is being taken to the infirmary for a while. Meg: See you later. Reb walks down the corridor and meets Joan Ferguson; Joan pushes her against a cell door. Joan: Kean, We're on to you, and before you know it, we'll have you out of here. Reb: You can only piss weak Ferguson. Like I said, You harm me, I get you back. It's your decision. Joan: Me, Piss Weak? Reb: Don't flatter yourself Joanie. Joan pushes her away and stares at her. Joan: When Marie Winter is out of Isolation you'll be crying. Reb: That was the whole point. We had to do something to get rid of her so you couldn't help her escape. Joan: How did you know about that? Reb: Top dogs know a lot of things these days, Joan: Top dog? Reb: And I Know that your days are numbered In Ann's office she is looking through some files when Meg walks in. Meg: Any news on Myra? Ann: She hasn't spoken a word since she returned Meg: Still contemplating the offer? Ann: What offer? Meg: Sending her to Ingleside for the time being, Ann: I'll see how she performs in the next few days, I don't want to show weakness unless it is needed. At home Dennis is writing a letter to Meg, he can't seem to think about what he wants to write in it. He just wants to let her know she is needed. He rips the piece of paper up and holds his hand in his head. Dennis: Damn! Lou is in the staff room and she is delivering the tea but there is no one in the room, she starts searching around for the keys to isolation, she finally finds them just in time before Joan walks in Joan: What are you doing here. Lou: Delivering Tea, What Does It Look Like? Joan: It looks like you were snooping about to me. Lou: What would I find in here apart from a few old scrubby magazines. Joan: Get out of my face. Lou walks out of the room and Joan looks sour. Lou: Sucker. Ann is in her office when the phone rings. Ann: Hello, Yes this Is she. She smiles with joy. Ann: Doctor Kahn, you know you can call me Ann, Yes tonight suits me fine. She laughs. Ann: Ok, 10 o'clock. She hangs up and smiles, Joan then walks in. Ann: Have you ever heard of knocking officer Ferguson. Joan: I was just coming in to ask about Desmond. Ann: You seem very keen. Joan: She's one of ours of course I am. Ann: She's fine, she is improving ever so slightly minute by minute. Joan fakes a smile. Joan: Superb. In the laundry, Reb is on the press and Bobbie and Chrissie are talking about her. Chrissie: I don't see how she gets away with being so smug. Bobbie: And being top dog she thinks she has the world at her feet. Chrissie: I can't wait till Myra comes back. Bobbie: Me neither. Reb stops pressing. Reb: Mitchell come over here. Bobbie walks slowly over to her. Bobbie: Yes Reb. Reb: This is for talking about me. Reb puts her hand on the press and crushes it in a Bea Smith like manoeuvre. Women (in shock): Oh My God. Reb: And as for the rest of you, you can bugger out of my way.
