Marshall's Review |
Page nine was originally the final page of this review, however I
have been using my M500 and Seiko ThumBoard for a month now, and I
feel that an update to this review may be of value. QUICK SUMMARY:
I am very pleased with this replacement for my OZ-770!
Because the M500 has an expansion card slot that will accept either mm or
sd cards, I have unlimited memory for ebooks. Here is a screen shot of
some of the books I have transfered to my 64mb memory card.
I use a freeware program called "Filez" as my file manager.
As a pastor, I am also impressed by the availability of the Bible in
various languages. I have both English and Spanish Bibles on my M500.
Here is a screen shot of Psalm 46 in Spanish:
Memos on the Wizard OZ-770 are limited to 3K of characters.
The M500 comes with word processing software that eliminates length
limitations, as well as adding flexibility for changing fonts, font sizes,
bold, italic, cut and paste, etc. Here is a photo of a little note I
typed with my Seiko ThumBoard using "Wordsmith."
CONCLUSION: The OZ-770 Wizard is a fine organizer, and has a larger screen
than a Palm. However, I am beginning to like my Palm M500 more than I did
my Wizard. There is so much free software available. It is extremely easy
to load free ebooks. The cost for an M500 with a Seiko keyboard is
about $70 or $80 US, which makes it a bargain. If your Wizard breaks,
and you can't find another Wizard, I recommend the Palm M500/Seiko combination.
Here is a neat freeware clock/calendar:
