Marshall's Review of the
Sharp Wizard OZ-290

As I have said before, the "Gold Standard" for organizers is
the OZ-770. Here is a scan of a 770 above a 290. The one advantage
of the 290 over the 770 is that it is smaller, lighter, therefore
easier to carry.

One small drawback (for me at least) for the OZ-290 is the fact
that it runs on two disc lithium batteries, which are a bit more
expensive, and more difficult to find than the ubiquitous AAA alkaline
batteries used in the 590 and in the 800 (the OZ-770 uses two AA batteries).
Here is a scan of the back of the 290 with the battery compartment exposed.

Another negative is the limited memo size. The OZ-290 allows for a mere 96 alpha-numeric characters in each memo. By contrast, each OZ-590 memo may be up to 474 characters. OZ-770 memos may have 2000 characters.

In its favor, the OZ-290 has a built-in Spanish/English dictionary, and some little rubber feet on the back (you can see them at the top of the scan above), that keep it from sliding around on your table top. You can also see the end of the stylus to the left of the rubber foot.

Here are some interesting anonymous reviews of the OZ-290 that I found in the internet.
