The OZ-290 is similar in size and approach to Sharp's OZ-590 and OZ-800.
Here is a scan of all three of the units side by side. From left to
right are the 290, the 590 and then the 800. The 290 is almost the same
size as the 800, with the 590 being the largest of the three.
The screen of the OZ-290 seems to be the same size as the OZ-800, however this is deceptive, due to the fact that the electronic "keyboard" for data entry occupies the entire lower half of the screen, as you can see from the scan below. You lose another 3/8" on the left side of the screen for some little icons. NONE of the OZ-800 screen is occupied by a keyboard, because it is actually printed below the screen.
