Marshall's Review of the
Royal ELinea 16

Page Five (Final Page)

Concluding Remarks: Basically, the Royal
ELinea 16 seems to have been designed to
imitate the Palm line of PDA's which is
understandable. It is a nice looking PDA,
and it is inexpensive. However it does
not operate as easily as a Palm, and of
course there are no applications, games
etc., that can be used with it, and there
are literally thousands of Palm applications.

Compared to the OZ-800 it is bulkier, and harder to use. Also, sometimes when you click on the email application, or on the memory testing application, the entire unit will freeze up. This happened to me several times, and the only way I could escape the freeze was by resetting the unit, and losing all the information I had inputted.

Compared to the OZ-770, it's not even close. Even though the ELinea has 16 MB of memory, it is not very useful memory. Email messages are limited to 3K, and there is no information in the included literature about memo length. Data input via the screen keyboard is sometimes inaccurate, and the small letters cause eyestrain after awhile. The screen of the OZ-770 is more useable, and clearer. The ELinea has a backlight, but it is very dim.

Conclusion: Either get a real Palm, or stick with the OZ-770. I'll stick with my Sharp Wizard OZ-770.
