Patience Revisited
Installation and basic play instructions

To install, first select the appropriate file:

Sony Clie or HandEra patience.prc
Other PalmOS units patience-nohighres.prc

Note: The patience.prc file will run on all units, it just takes up more
memory. Patience-nohighres.prc is the same program, but does not include
the high-res bitmaps, and so is around 15K smaller. It will also run on the
Sony and HandEra, but of course you won't see the high-res bitmaps. When in
doubt, install patience.prc.

To install the prc file, it is usually sufficient to double-click the prc
file you want to install, which should bring up the Install Tool with the
prc file selected for installation. If that doesn't work, you'll have to
manually run the Palm Desktop Install Tool. The Palm Desktop sometimes has
an install button you can click after running the Palm Desktop, or look for
a program called instapp.exe in the same directory you installed the Palm
Desktop (sorry, Mac users, I don't know what it's called on the Mac!). Once
you find the Install Tool program, run it, and click the "Add..." button.
Browse to the appropriate prc file, and hit done.

Finally, HotSync your PalmOS unit, and you should be ready to play!

Basic play:

Tap on the Patience Revisited icon in the Application screen (on most units,
you get to the Application screen by tapping the circle next to the graffiti
area with a house on it).

The first time you run Patience Revisited, you'll see a "New Game" screen
with a number of games on it. Pick a game and hit OK. If you're not sure
which one to start with, try Klondike, it's the game most people associate
with "Solitaire". Other very popular games are FreeCell and Canfield.

On the Klondike screen, you'll see a number of cards dealt for you. The
rectangle in the upper right is the deck; the number is the number of cards
remaining in the deck. Next to it on the left is the discard pile. If you
tap on the deck, three cards (in Klondike anyway) will move to the discard
pile. The top card is available for playing on other cards, though this
varies according to the game rules.

To move a card, you can just tap it, and the game will automatically figure
out a reasonable place to move your card, according to the rules of the game
you are playing. If you want it in a different place, you can always drag
it there manually (hold down on it with the stylus, and move it where you
want to play it).

If you get to a point where you can't play any more cards (and you didn't
win!), you have two options:
 - To restart the same game you are playing (the same deal of cards), either
select "Restart Game" from the Patience menu, or write an "S" using
   graffiti.
 - To go back to the "New Game" screen to play a new deal or a different
game, either select "New Game" from the Patience menu, or write "N"
   using graffiti.

Other useful commands are "H" for a hint, "U" for undo, and "R" for the
rules for the game you are currently playing. Hint and undo can also be
mapped to the up/down buttons, see the Settings/Preferences menu for more
details.
