When you're out in the bush and missing home, nothing is better than a care package from home! Here's the info on what I would like and how to send it.
Info for Mail and Packages
HOME
Merci for wanting to mail me something! I love just getting your simple cards and letters, but if you need to send something larger like candy, here are tips.
1. Send letters! Even though I have e-mail, there's just something about getting a letter at mail call. :)  Letters take about two weeks to arrive regular mail.

2. Please number and date letters in case a newer letter gets there first, so I don't get confused!

3. Care packages should be sent in a padded envelope, not more than approximately 4 lbs. (exceptions will be made if enough bags of Reese's Pieces are at stake!)  Boxes are subject to searching and customs fees. Those customs fees aren't paid until they get to me, which means I have to pay them!

4. Mail postcards in envelopes. Otherwise they will end up on an Africa Post Office wall!

5. DO NOT send anything valuable! Assume it will be stolen before it gets to me. Talk to me or Juli if you want to send something of value, we'll figure something out.

6. Packages take about a month to arrive, so take that into consideration...no perishables!

7. Lastly, when hand addressing things, use a red pen. It looks more official and thus less likely to be tampered with. Another option is to write Bible verses on the package or envelope. The mail clerks are superstitious and won't open it!

After lots of research, I've found the USPS is the cheapest way to send mail and packages. Click here to calculate how much it'll cost to get something mailed to me! The issue is the letter/package is  likely to be rifled through. So again, don't include anything valuable. I look forward to hearing from all you!
But what should I send?
