KARENS BLEND
Materials:
2 different shades of clay
(I'm using red and white.)
Tissue Blade
Pasta Machine.
1) Roll out your 2 colors on the thickest setting.
(You will be working on the thickest setting until the end steps.
Cut them so that they are the same size.
2 ) Lay the white on top of the red so that it covers the red half way.
3) Fold in half so that red touches red, and white touches white.
4) Butt the red right up against the side of the pasta machine.
I mean REALLY SQUISH IT over to the side.
Run threw the pasta machine.
This is what it looks like 10 times threw the pasta machine.
Don't walk away disgusted yet!
5)Ok...now assuming you've put her threw 20 times or so...you probably have this nasty looking edge like below...
Fold it one more time, and flip her over so that the light uneven edge is butted right up tight against the side of the pasta machine and run threw once.
Now your edge should be nice and smooth...
But it still doesnt look very blended does it?
6) Fold one more time.
Remember you were running it threw with the red butted against the edge of the pasta machine?
Well now, turn the blend so that the darkest end of the blend will go threw the pasta machine first:
Starting to look a little better....
7) AT THIS POINT DONT FOLD IT ANY MORE!
Just run the blend threw the pasta machine with the darkest side in first on the next lowest setting on your pasta machine.
Do this repeatedly until you have run it threw at the thinnest setting of your machine.
Your blend is going to get longer and longer.....
Now it should look something like this:
Now roll the long blend into a plug starting with the lightest end like below:
The final result.

That's it!
Your ready to make the rose now!
